Hospitalist (7 on / 7 off) - Innovative Medical Solutions at Mission Community Hospital
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospitalist to join our team at Mission Community Hospital. This full-time position operates on a 7 on / 7 off schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance. The Hospitalist will deliver comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations, to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Coordinate care with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and effective patient care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, hospital committees, and infection control efforts to enhance patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to medical students, residents, or advanced practice providers as needed.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Valid California medical license or eligibility to obtain one prior to starting.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage complex patient cases and make sound clinical decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Hospitalist or in a similar acute care setting.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems for patient documentation and management.
- Familiarity with clinical decision support tools and evidence-based guidelines.

Schedule
- 7 on / 7 off schedule. Hours are 6:00AM-10:00PM.

Location
Mission Community Hospital, San Fernando Valley, CA. This is an in-person position with opportunities to participate in telehealth initiatives as applicable.
