Full Job Description
In the role of Highway Engineer, we'll count on you to:
• Serve in a technical role supporting a Project Manager on the development of urban roadways, arterials, grade separations, and mainline freeway, managed lane design, and freeway interchange projects
• Manage master file layouts and maintain custody of draft and final design files with team coordination and logical record keeping of deliverables and QC documentation on multiple projects
• Oversee and manage design work completed by EITs or design staff contributing to multidisciplinary projects (roadway / drainage / utilities / structures / geotechnical / environmental)
• Prepare roadway layouts, profiles, and details to facilitate the completion of planning level through final design level projects based on delivery schedules
• Develop cost estimates for feasibility studies, planning level assessments, environmental phase engineers estimate, and final design estimates and bid lists with item codes
• Actively participated verbally and visually with the generation and use of exhibits to explain technical concepts for team approval and client review
• Assume management roles when needed to keep projects moving forward with oversight teams including transmittals of deliverables to client and reviewing agencies
Preferred Qualifications
• A minimum of 3 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
• MS Office knowledge
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
