Job Description

The Highway Designer (mid-level) supports the delivery of transportation infrastructure projects across Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and alternate locations in Ottawa and Kingston. This role operates within a multidisciplinary engineering environment focused on highway and roadway systems, contributing to design development, technical documentation, and project coordination activities across planning, preliminary design, and detailed design phases.

The position involves working on provincial and municipal roadway projects, requiring alignment with regulatory standards including those established by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. Responsibilities span geometric design, traffic considerations, and constructability reviews, with involvement in stakeholder coordination and field data validation. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in highway design, proficiency in industry software, and demonstrated exposure to transportation projects within the Canadian regulatory context.

Assets
  • Project experience on MTO-regulated transportation projects
  • Exposure to multi-modal transportation systems (e.g., transit corridors)
  • Experience supporting major infrastructure projects or corridor studies
  • Prior involvement in design-build or alternative delivery models
  • Demonstrated mentorship or leadership experience
