Full Job Description
Summary Description Manage and direct the High Voltage (HV) business division within The Tri-M group. This leadership role is responsible for team safety, business development/ sales, customer satisfaction, project execution, quality assurance, people development, P&L/ forecasting, and driving the long-term vision of the divisions. Duties and Responsibilities Essential: • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures. • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company. • Creates and maintains cohesion between HV teams and other business teams, through teambuilding events, communication both verbally and written, and through project support. • Maintains existing customer relationships and develop and expand new relationships with industrial and utility customer base. Leverage and provide direction to the sales team. • Creates and maintains budgeted revenue and gross margin goals to include monthly forecasting, projections, and gross margin analysis. • Works directly with the Director of High Voltage to develop annual financial targets. • Establishes, analyzes and refines project management and field installation standards and policies to develop efficient and effective system approaches. • Manages and partners with direct reports to ensure the field teams are staffed, scheduled, have material, and are prepared to execute the assigned project. • Establishes schedules, priorities, and provides day-to-day direction of team members with the intent of ensuring that all deadlines for all projects are met. • Manages assigned personnel in order, to achieve company objectives and maximize career development for employees and conducts timely and accurate performance evaluations. • Drives business change through continuous improvement through new tools, systems and methods. • Partners with the team to define and expand the field QA process. • Defines and implements an ongoing training and career development program for all team members. • Evaluates, plans, and coordinates vehicles, tools, equipment upgrades, replacements, and new purchases. • Develops and implements documented processes across each business team. • Assures that all permits, licenses, and inspections filings are completed. • Develops scope of work, bill of material and labor hours for estimates. • Prepares project status reports and/or schedules, if applicable. • Prices and submits to owner and expedites all change order requests. • Responds in timely manner to employee concerns. • Assists in general business development activities. Job Requirements Skills/Education: • Bachelor's degree or 5 plus years of management experience in a similar role. • Minimum 5-8 years in the electrical power or utility overhead/ underground experience (substations, line work, reconductoring, etc.) or equivalent years' experience. • Demonstrated ability to lead others in a manner that maximizes their performance. • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work within budgets. • Knowledge or working relationship with Exelon, PECO, Delmarva, PEPCO, BG&E or all other Utilities and Co-Ops. • Technical knowledge of electrical systems, NFPA 70E and the NEC a plus • Ability to operate a laptop and/or tablet is a must. • Proficient computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office products. • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and work under pressure. • Excellent verbal, written and human relations skills. • Ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to read, understand and effectively apply construction drawings, specifications and electrical schematics. • Ability to organize and administer multiple job functions with good attention to detail • Must be confident, decisive, self-motivated. • Strong knowledge and understanding of High Voltage equipment, vehicles and power distribution. • Ability to travel to jobsites and storm events nationally, including overnight, as needed. • Valid passenger driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle. Reliable means of transportation is required. Physical Requirements: • Working a minimum of 40 hours/week • Sitting 6 to 8 hours/day • Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs. from floor to above shoulders • Repetitive use of hands for writing, typing, data entry, and filing • Vision adequate for daily and consistent computer use and reading • Hearing adequate for phone use • Standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, bending, twisting, and walking as needed to perform site surveys to collect data for project design • Balance adequate for climbing ladders, scaffolds, and lifts • Environmental factors include working in: temperature extremes of 0 F to 100 F up to 8 hours inside or outside; atmospheric exposure to dust, gases, fumes, odors; and poor ventilation in confined spaces • Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards • Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves and hearing protection Job Requirements Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
