Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of algebra curriculum, regents exam, and instructional strategies.
- Experience working with high school students in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master's degree in Mathematics Education or a related discipline.
- Valid teaching certification or license for secondary education in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience integrating technology into math instruction, such as using graphing calculators or educational software.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques to support diverse learners.
- Previous experience in curriculum development or academic coaching.
- Professional development or training in culturally responsive teaching practices.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and address the needs of all students.
- Deliver clear and effective instruction in algebra concepts.
- Prepare students for the Regents Algebra 1 exam.
- Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, assignments, and projects, and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school administration to support student development and address any academic or behavioral concerns.
- Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a growth mindset.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in mathematics instruction and pedagogy.
- Participate in school events, committees, and initiatives to contribute to the broader school culture.
Compensation and Benefits- Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. Range: $75,000 - $110,000
