Responsibilities

  • Provide continuity of care and manage patient needs when the physician is out of office.
  • Assist with treatment authorizations, insurance appeals, peer-to-peer reviews, and other clinical documentation requirements.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and disease management.
  • Participate in occasional weekend rounding as needed.

Position Overview

 

BayCare Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Hematology & Oncology practice located at the brand-new, state-of-the-art South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, Florida.

 

This provider will primarily manage hematology patients while gradually expanding involvement in the care of oncology patients. The role offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced, highly respected physician mentor and gain exposure to a broad range of hematologic and oncologic diagnoses in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

The ideal candidate will have prior Hematology experience. New graduates will be considered if they have completed significant Hematology/Oncology clinical rotations during training.

 

Position Overview

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.

 

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, including Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP), or other relevant certification.
  • Active Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant license, or ability to obtain prior to start.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient management skills
  • Previous Hematology and/or Oncology experience, preferred
