Heavy Civil Superintendent

Department: Operations

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Reporting To: Chris Campbell

Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000 / year

Description

The construction superintendent will collaborate with our leadership team, foreman, and crew to develop and carry out strategies and plans with the ability to work independently and inspire high performance from the team and self, easily adapting to changing situations and managing multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.

Key Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities
• Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of facility staff.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Manages discipline and termination of assigned employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Role Responsibilities
• Main point of contact for project inquiries and responsibilities from the overall project perspective
• Assist in day-to-day operations, including filling in alternate positions as needed.
• Maintain continuous communication with the General Manager about any specific requirements for completing the project safely, timely, and profitably.
• Maintain budgets, equipment plans, key performance indicators, and key metrics identified per project basis.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel.
• Collaborate with technicians to ensure adherence to all company best practices, operations processes, quality standards, safety standards, as well as compliance with governing bodies.
• Build company image by collaborating with customers, employees, suppliers, and industry organizations, enforcing ethical business practices.
• Ensuring the completion of high-quality work always being performed.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Skills/Abilities
• Knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and practices in all equipment/tool operations.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws pertaining to job duties.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders involved in the construction process
• Ability to effectively lead and manage construction teams to achieve project goals
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and critical thinking skills

Mental Demands/ Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors
• Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including personal computer and peripherals
• Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, reaching, and twisting
• Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding, and use of mouse; occasional reaching
• Lifting: Occasional lifting and carrying (75+ pounds)
• Environment: Regular regional travel or statewide travel with potential exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration, and chemical and electrical hazards
• Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, sudden shifting priorities, and ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
