Job Description

Position Summary:

Supports heat treat operations by ensuring accuracy of process records and compliance to procedures and standards. Resolves non-conformances and leads cross-functional projects to improve departmental processes. Typically hold 5+ years of relevant engineering experience. Directly reports to Technical Manager with indirect reporting to the Quality and Heat Treat Operations departments

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.
  • Review all Heat Treat Process Records (HTPRs) and generate chartsReviews and dispositions non-conformances (MRR's) and conduct Root Cause Corrective Action activities.
  • Involvement in product risk assessments involving furnaces.
  • Works on special projects to improve the heat treat department
  • Leads and partners cross functionally all new and ongoing projects for the department
  • Supports with revision of new forms and procedures required for the department
  • Works closely with Maintenance and Production Departments to evaluate problems encountered with the equipment and to assist with the solutions required to resolve the problems. (Ex: SAT/TUS failures)
  • Assists in implementation of controls for new equipment and the upgrade of controls for existing equipment, also in the implementation of data collection projects.
  • Coordinates instrument calibration recalls
  • Conduct routine audits and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with internal procedures, manufacturing plans, and applicable pyrometry specifications (AMS2750)
  • Participates and prepares for all audits internally and externally including customer audits
  • Create Training materials for Heat Treat Operators
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, customers, and general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry including calculus.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Able to communicate freely, make presentations and discuss controversial issues in a reasonable manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with various levels of the organization.
  • Thorough understanding of Aerospace Heat Treating and Forging processes and specifications including AMS2750, Nadcap, and Customer Specifications.

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering in heavy industrial plant engineering management
  • 5+ years of AMS2750 experience and/or training

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $86,000 to $140,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
