As Hearing & Order Process Manager, you'll play a key role in the Department of Mineral Resources mission by working with staff and stakeholders throughout the entire hearing process; will prioritize and manage the orders process, attend hearing and question, witnesses as necessary to gather relevant information to assist with the order preparation, write complex and technical orders, review dockets and notify management of problematic cases or opposition, work with mapping team to maintain spacing unit layer, assist in the scheduling of hearings as needed, and have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and GIS software and then prepare, draft, and review applicable orders; attending hearings and questioning witnesses as necessary to gather relevant information to assist with the order preparation;
To thrive in this role, you should have knowledge of Federal lands and leasing practices relative to the oil and gas industry; an understanding of spacing units, geology, reservoir engineering, setbacks, wells, and their relationships; a solid understanding of oil and gas law to include North Dakota Century Code and Administrative Rules pertinent to the DMR; and an advanced understanding of land grids. Must also have advanced verbal and written communication skills and advanced technical writing skills; the ability to translate complex land and technical information into summary reports; a professional approach to presentations; pay attention to detail, be task and process oriented; and able to quickly adapt to change.
The Hiring Salary Range is $108,000-$126,000 per year, or $9,000-$10,500 per month.

To be considered for this role you must have a Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, geology, petroleum land management, energy management or law, AND a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, including roles with increasing responsibility in oil and gas operations, engineering, geology, or land-related functions.
We'll also consider applicants with other related degrees in the following fields: engineering, natural resources, energy systems, geosciences, environmental sciences, land and energy management, legal and regulatory fields, or business fields and 8 years of industry or regulatory experience.
