Shift: Shift 1/8:00:00 AM to 4:30:00 PM

Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $42.09 - $56.83 / hour

Summary

The Healthcare Quality Manager oversees the clinical quality abstraction team, delivering regulatory performance reports to the system, and integrating inpatient and outpatient quality reporting (IQR, OQR). This role involves analyzing care trends, identifying deviations through patient record reviews and data reports, and implementing corrective actions where needed to support external regulatory reporting efforts. The manager educates and equips staff with tools to improve data accuracy and ensure compliance. The healthcare quality manager reports to the system director of quality and clinical standards, collaborating with risk management, legal, accreditation, patient safety, EPIC analytics team, and other key departments to address quality performance requests or concerns from payers. The role oversees the development of corrective action plans and investigations, and responses to those concerns on behalf of Lee Health. The manager ensures that publicly reported data complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements, providing benchmarks and opportunities for improvement. They work to recommend enhancements to data integrity and work within data systems to reduce unwarranted clinical variation. The role also serves in a co-chair capacity for the system quality regulatory oversight committee (QROC) for Lee Health, whose purpose is to have operational oversight for all external regulatory reporting. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required. Master's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in quality improvement, patient safety, or healthcare leadership; prior leadership experience preferred. Minimum five (5) years of experience in a health care setting. Experience with data reporting systems, data reporting procedures, and data analysis. Knowledge of publicly reported and regulated data for hospitals and health systems. Previous work related to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) payer performance programs preferred.

Certification: Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

License: Active RN or APRN license in the State of Florida.

Other: Strong analytical and critical thinking ability. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint). Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience navigating electronic health records, preferably EPIC, and event reporting systems (RL Datix). Experience with data reporting systems, key publicly reported measures, and regulatory reporting.
