WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAYAs a Health Communications Officer, you will:
- Establish policies and procedures to ensure scientific communication products meet organizational requirements for quality, accuracy, timeliness, and integrity.
- Direct organizational resources and establish operational priorities to support the effective functioning of a scientific communication program.
- Lead strategies to expand the reach and impact of emerging infectious disease information among public health partners, professional organizations, communities, and other audiences.
- This position has 20% supervisory duties, candidates must also have demonstrated or shown the potential to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. QualificationsWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORMinimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the
GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
- Managing scientific publishing activities involving editorial review, production processes, publication standards, and/or dissemination of scientific information to professional or public health audiences.
- Overseeing scientific journal operations by coordinating editorial, production, and/or communication activities to ensure timely completion and delivery of scientific products.
- Implementing scientific publishing and/or communication practices to ensure scientific information is accurately translated and effectively disseminated through traditional or digital platforms.
