Job Description:

POLITICO is seeking an experienced journalist to lead coverage of the Food and Drug Administration, pharmaceutical industry lobbying and President Donald Trump's efforts to lower drug prices.

The reporter will break news and produce authoritative coverage across POLITICO platforms exploring the political forces shaping Washington's approach to pharmaceutical innovation and affordability. The reporter will co-author the twice weekly Prescription Pulse newsletter, helping curate and elevate the most important health policy developments for POLITICO subscribers who need to know what's moving - and what it means - in real time.

What You'll Do:
  • Cover the FDA, pharmaceutical industry lobbying and the Trump administration's drug-pricing agenda
  • Break news and produce authoritative stories across formats and platforms
  • Co-author and help shape the twice-weekly Prescription Pulse newsletter
  • Work collaboratively with reporters and editors across POLITICO's health care team


What You'll Need:
  • At least 4 -5 years experience covering federal health care policy
  • Proven ability to dig up scoops in a fast-paced newsroom environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively across beats
  • Demonstrated track record of writing accurately, thoughtfully and quickly across story forms
