Job Profile Summary:

The Health and Safety Professional, working under direct supervision, is responsible for the implementation of safe practices and processes into department operations within their designated areas. The role conducts risk assessments, implements safety protocols, and provides training to employees on safety procedures. The role assists in the compilation and upkeep of health and safety data for regular reports and regulatory documentation, guaranteeing accuracy and thoroughness. The role provides support for health and safety incident investigations, reviews, and training sessions, actively contributing to the ongoing enhancement of safety practices. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and organization standards while optimizing economic performance.

Job Description:
• Promotes and demonstrates organization's and health and safety leadership attributes, fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship among employees.
• Provides cost-effective health and safety guidance to operational teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards while optimizing economic performance.
• Assists in compiling and maintaining health and safety data for routine reports and regulatory documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Supports health and safety incident investigations, reviews, and training sessions, contributing to continuous improvement in safety practices.
• Collaborates with field personnel to ensure contractor compliance with organization's health and safety standards, promoting a safe working environment.
• Participates in pre-project health and safety assessments, job inspections, and facility inspections, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
• Supports emergency response protocols during the initial response to an emergency and facilitates the accurate and timely reporting of incidents and near misses to meet the health and safety requirements.
• Performs thorough on-site verifications to identify performance gaps related to regulatory requirements, internal safe practices, mechanical integrity issues, behavioral or cultural issues, or competency issues.
• Gains experience, completes routine tasks, and develops skills under direct supervision, supporting change efforts and participating in continuous health and safety improvement initiatives.
• Develops basic business knowledge, accesses relevant data services, and gains awareness of industry practices, fostering effective working relationships and learning from subject matter experts in health and safety domain.

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Science, Fire Protection, Safety Engineering or related field and/or commensurate work experience required.

Experience:
• 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Health and Safety Operations, Risk Assessments, Implementation of Company Safety Policies and Protocols, and Incident Investigation. Oil and gas industry experience is preferred.
