Responsibilities

Full Job Description
APPLICANTS MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE ASSOCIATE LABOR RELATIONS ANALYST CIVIL SERVICE TITLE OR BE PERMANENT IN A COMPARABLE TITLE ELIGIBLE FOR 6.1.9 TITLE CHANGE OR BE REACHABLE WITH THE SCORE OF 100 ON THE OPEN COMPETITIVE ASSOCIATE LABOR RELATIONS ANALYST EXAM (# 3085).

The candidate selected will be working in the Health and Safety office and be responsible for coordinating, supporting and advising on all health and safety matters affecting DHS staff. The Health and Safety Analyst will monitor standards, process and communications in regard to health and safety and ensure Federal, state and local regulations within the workplace are adhered.

The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is recruiting one (1) Associate Labor Relations Analyst to function as a Health and Safety Analyst who will:

-Respond to grievances regarding violations surrounding the Health & Safety of DHS Staff in the workplace.

-Work to address City, State and Federal employee Health & Safety violations.

-Evaluate established research programs, recommend changes in existing programs when indicated, and develop recommendations for new programs. Participate in the planning and formulation of agency policies and procedures relevant to its research program.

-Liaises with external health and safety consultants and advisers in the provision of proper training programs and health and safety services within the workplace.

-Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety, and welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the agency.

-Complete annual PESH mandated forms detailing all injuries and illness of DHS employees for all DHS directed sites.

-Participate in Health and Safety related meetings and walkthroughs.

-Collaborate with other programs to ensure mandated staff trainings up to date and completed by DHS staff.

-Assist the Health & Safety Officer as needed. Act in the absence of the Health & Safety Officer.

-May supervise or train subordinate professional employees and other staff.

Salary Range: $88,660-$95,611.

ASSOCIATE LABOR RELATIONS ANAL - 13369

1. A master's degree from an accredited college in business or public administration, economics, labor or industrial relations, statistics, industrial psychology or a closely related social science field and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in labor research and analysis, employee benefit design and benefit program evaluation, compensation analysis, labor economics, economic planning, or a related area; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of professional experience as described in "1" above; or
3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.
