The Los Angeles County Office of Education is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of Head Start Program Development Assistant.

This position provides analytic, technical, and program planning and development support to state or federal Head Start program functions; and provides ongoing communications and outreach to the Head Start community and families.

This position requires full-time, on-site attendance.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Required Education and ExperienceEducation: A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, psychology, sociology, communications, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Experience: Two years of experience compiling and analyzing program data, and preparing reports and recommendations regarding one of the following areas for one or more social services agencies: program planning and development; community assessment; student program recruitment, enrollment and eligibility; community outreach; family or community engagement; or program compliance monitoring.

Equivalency Provision: A master's degree in business administration, public administration, psychology, sociology, communications or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation may substitute for the required experience for up to one year. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Additional Requirements: Individuals must either possess a valid driver's license with access to private transportation, or demonstrate the ability to reliably travel between job sites using alternative means.

This position requires full-time, on-site attendance.

Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a multiple choice exam, performance exam, and technical interview.
