Position Overview

The Head, SAP COE is responsible for defining and driving the strategic vision, governance, and operational excellence of the Novelis’s SAP landscape. This role ensures that SAP solutions align with business objectives, deliver maximum value, and adhere to guidelines and compliance standards. The SAP COE Head leads a team of functional and technical experts, fostering innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement across all SAP-related processes and systems.

The Head, SAP COE is expected to act as a multi-functional integrator, aligning SAP capabilities with IT tower strategies. This leader will lead a globally distributed team, drive technology simplification and cost optimization to ensure consistent standards and delivery across regions.

Responsibilities

Strategic Alignment & Governance

  • Crafting and integrating business requirements into the SAP template across all SAP instances (Asia, Europe, North America), ensuring consistency and alignment.
  • Oversee architecture, design, and end-to-end delivery of projects
  • Drive simplification, standardization, and automation for SAP systems.
  • Handle outsourcing relationships and define protocols for engaging consulting partners, including when to use external support for enhancements or full project delivery

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead a globally distributed team of IT professionals supporting SAP systems.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on delivery, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Demand & Portfolio Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to solution partners and business leaders on SAP capabilities, opportunities, and risks.
  • Champion SAP accessibility and usability across the organization to empower business users.
  • Facilitate feasibility assessments and case development.

Delivery & Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee full lifecycle of SAP solutions from concept to support.
  • Ensure consistency to enterprise architecture and total cost of ownership principles.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with other IT Leaders to ensure functional and technical integration points are addressed, especially in modules like PtP, OtC, R2R, and Manufacturing
  • Partner with business teams to translate strategic objectives into scalable data solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on ERP capabilities, opportunities, and risks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of IT processes and capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT business partnering, project management, or enterprise solutions delivery.
  • 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in manufacturing environments and plant operations.
  • Solid understanding of IT governance, demand management, and portfolio planning.
