Full Job Description
Overview

GTS is seeking an experienced Entity Controller/Financial and Operations Principal to own financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and audit management for one or more of our registered broker-dealer entities. This role sits at the intersection of technical accounting, financial systems, and regulatory reporting, and serves as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulators.

The ideal candidate brings deep broker-dealer accounting expertise, hands-on experience with Sage Intacct, and the credibility to face off directly with auditors, examiners, and senior stakeholders.

The Treasurer will lead the firm's Treasury and Financing function, with accountability for its strategy, execution, day-to-day management, and overall direction. This senior leadership role requires deep expertise in broker-dealer financing - including A-6, JBO and self-clearing structures, a strong understanding of risk-based haircut (RBH) financing, enhanced financing and swaps.  The Treasurer should have experience partnering with prime brokers and clearing firms, optimizing liquidity, funding, collateral, and capital management across sophisticated trading and financial-markets businesses.

As the firm’s senior financing expert, the Treasurer will bring a commercial and strategic perspective to how GTS funds its businesses, deploys capital, manages liquidity, and develops relationships with banks, prime brokers, clearing firms, and other financing counterparties.

GTS has an expectation that Senior Leaders operate as player | coaches. The successful candidate must be both a strategic leader and a hands-on practitioner: someone who can define the future-state vision, translate it into an executable plan, and be held accountable ensuring success of the plan.  This is not an oversight-only role; the Treasurer will be expected to drive change, execute, take ownership of outcomes, solve problems directly, and ensure the function delivers consistently.

The Treasurer will also modernize the function through technology, automation, data, analytics, and artificial intelligence - creating a scalable, sophisticated, and forward-looking Treasury organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and own the firmwide Treasury and financing function, setting its strategy, priorities, operating model, and long-term direction.
  • Serve as the firm’s senior expert on broker-dealer financing, developing and optimizing financing strategies across GTS’s broker-dealer and trading businesses.
  • Manage and deepen relationships with prime brokers, clearing firms, banks, and other financing counterparties; negotiate financing terms, capacity, pricing, collateral, and credit arrangements.
  • Optimize the firm’s funding, liquidity, capital, collateral, and balance-sheet utilization; balancing cost, capacity, counterparty diversification, and risk.
  • Oversee firmwide liquidity and cash management, including funding, cash concentration, investments, intercompany lending, dividends, and capital injections.
  • Develop robust liquidity forecasting, stress testing, scenario analysis, and management reporting to anticipate funding and capital requirements.
  • Oversee Treasury-related risk, including liquidity, funding, counterparty, foreign-exchange, and interest-rate exposures.
  • Partner closely with Trading, Finance, Risk, Operations, Technology, and Legal on existing businesses, new strategies, and growth opportunities.
  • Define and execute the technology and data strategy for Treasury, increasing automation, real-time visibility, scalability, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Leverage automation, analytics, and AI to improve areas such as liquidity forecasting, financing optimization, exception management, reconciliation, controls, and reporting.
  • Provide senior management and the Board with clear reporting and insights on liquidity, financing, capital, counterparty exposure, and key Treasury metrics.
  • Establish strong Treasury policies, controls, governance, and operating processes.
  • Build and develop a high-performing Treasury team combining strong financial-markets expertise with technology and quantitative problem-solving.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a top university in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Significant senior-level experience in Treasury, prime brokerage, financing, or related markets within an investment bank, broker-dealer, proprietary trading firm, market maker, hedge fund, or similarly sophisticated financial institution.
  • Deep broker-dealer financing expertise is required, including a strong understanding of financing mechanics, economics, counterparties, liquidity, collateral, capital, and risk.
  • Strong knowledge of prime brokerage, clearing, secured financing, margin and collateral, funding structures, and counterparty management.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and negotiating with senior relationships across  prime brokers, banks, clearing firms, and financing counterparties.
  • Ability to develop and execute financing strategies to continually optimize the firm’s balance sheet.
  • Strong understanding of how financing, liquidity, capital, collateral, and balance-sheet considerations interact within an active trading or market-making business.
  • Experience operating at a senior leadership level; experience spanning both a major bank/prime brokerage environment and a proprietary trading firm, market maker, hedge fund, or broker-dealer is particularly relevant.
  • Demonstrated ability to be both a strategic leader and hands-on subject-matter expert, with the drive and ownership mindset to lead and evolve a critical firmwide function.
  • Track record of improving Treasury, financing, or related functions through technology, automation, data, analytics, or quantitative tools.
  • Strong commercial judgment, analytical capabilities, and ability to translate complex financing and liquidity issues into actionable recommendations.
