Full Job Description
Position Summary:

We are seeking a Head of Segment Marketing who will spearhead segment marketing initiatives within our dynamic global marketing organization. This individual will possess a deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, across research, translational and clinical applications. They will have direct experience shaping commercial strategies and enablement tailored to the unique needs and workflows of these customers across research areas such as Oncology, Pathology, Immunology, and Neuroscience.

This role will lead a team with the key focus of deeply understanding the key segment markets and providing that expertise and voice of the customer internally and externally. This position will also understand the customer journey for different segments and lead a team effort to design and execute segmentation programs to increase top-of-funnel awareness, generate demand and enable sales in key segments.

What you will be doing:
  • Lead strategic marketing across various customer segments and research areas, with a focus on deep market understanding, scientific rigor and strategic insight.
  • Gather and leverage deep market insights, including market drivers, size, unmet needs, and key players, to guide annual marketing execution plans, global campaigns, and input into long-term strategic plans.
  • Recommend use cases, application areas, and provide input into product roadmap based on an in-depth understanding of market trends and customer unmet needs.

Craft compelling positioning and value propositions for specific customer segment groups.
  • Partner deeply with the Marketing, Sales and Business Development teams to execute strategies and measure impact.
  • Collaborate across marketing to drive and support segment-to-product full funnel marketing campaigns, events, and sales enablement tools.
  • Drive segment training and sales support tool development aligned with key strategies.
  • In partnership with Business Development, support relationships with associations, consortia, and service providers in order to enhance market visibility and development opportunities.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and manage a team of high-performing segment marketers.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in a scientific discipline relevant to life sciences
  • A minimum of 5 years of previous experience in product and segment marketing, market intelligence and development, or related roles preferably within the life sciences sector
  • Extensive knowledge in life science tools and services
  • Strong networking capabilities to build relationships across various organizational levels and with customers.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with a strong bias for action; excel at driving results quickly within a small team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS or PhD preferred

Below is the base pay range for this full-time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one's skills, qualifications, and experience. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company's total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x's equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.
