Head of Project Management - Systems

We are seeking an experienced Head of Project Management within the Electrification and Automation Project Management Office. This role is hybrid out of Wendell, NC.

You'll make an impact by:

As Head of Projects - Systems, you will lead a team of managers and project managers supporting Systems projects. You will also coordinate project execution with SI EA factories, ensuring consistent adherence to PM@Siemens as the primary framework for project delivery.
  • Lead and Develop the Team
    Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for System Managers and Project Managers. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and employee development.
  • Drive Safety Excellence
    Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with safety standards and proactively mitigating risks across all Systems projects.
  • Oversee Resource Strategy and Workforce Planning
    Align staffing, capacity, and resource allocation with project backlog and future pipeline demands while partnering closely with Sales and Application Engineering.
  • Ensure Organizational Capability and Skill Readiness
    Assess team capabilities, identify skill gaps, and implement development plans to ensure successful execution of complex systems projects.
  • Own Portfolio Financial Performance
    Lead budgeting, forecasting, staffing plans, and financial reviews to ensure achievement of revenue, profit, cash flow, and business performance targets.
  • Govern Project Execution and Portfolio Delivery
    Monitor portfolio health, project performance, schedules, and milestones, implementing corrective actions to ensure successful and timely delivery.
  • Manage Contractual, Commercial, and Project Risks
    Ensure compliance with contractual obligations while leading risk identification, mitigation, claims management, change order processes, and issue resolution.
  • Strengthen Factory and Operational Alignment
    Partner with manufacturing operations in Wendell and Mexico to align capacity, backlog, production priorities, and delivery commitments.
  • Drive Quality, Process Excellence, and Continuous Improvement
    Ensure adherence to project management standards and quality requirements while leveraging lessons learned to improve execution and operational efficiency.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
    Serve as the primary escalation point across PMO, commercial, engineering, operations, and customer stakeholders to drive alignment, transparency, and customer success.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, such as business, engineering or project management.
  • 4+ years of experience in project management with P&L responsibility, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role or 2+ years of demonstrated experience in functional management of a team.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience capable of driving organization to meet goals, motivate employees through challenges, and provide support to excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate expectations, provide clear and honest feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate results to varying levels from executive management, sales, operations, as well as customer.
  • Experience with project management software tools, such as Microsoft Project / Primavera and proficiency in SAP / Salesforce.com

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in electrical power system equipment is preferred.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a requirement.
  • PM@Siemens certification is a plus
  • A degree in electrical engineering or technology is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with customer orientation and clear growth mind-set

The pay range for this position is 125,000 - 210,000 annually with a target incentive of 15 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
