Head of Product Development Transformation, Shared Capabilities

Your Job

Molex is seeking a Head of Shared Capabilities to help transform how we develop, launch, and scale products across our global organization.

This role will lead enterprise-wide initiatives that improve the effectiveness of product development by connecting business priorities with digital capabilities, data, artificial intelligence, process improvement, and organizational effectiveness. Working across the organization, you will identify opportunities to reduce complexity, improve decision-making, accelerate execution, and create measurable business value.

Success in this role requires more than strategy development. The ideal candidate is a transformation leader who has successfully aligned stakeholders, influenced without formal authority, and delivered meaningful change across complex organizations. Within the first 18 months, you will build trusted partnerships, identify high-impact improvement opportunities, establish alignment around a future-state vision, and drive implementation of capabilities that improve business performance across the product development lifecycle.

This is a unique opportunity to shape an emerging enterprise capability and help define the future of product development at Molex. The successful candidate will be energized by building something new, solving complex business challenges, and creating long-term value through collaboration, influence, and execution.

This position reports to the Vice President, Global Product Development and is based in Lisle, Illinois. The role requires approximately 30-40% global travel.

What You Will Do

  • Establish and communicate the long-term vision, strategy, priorities, and measurable outcomes for Shared Capabilities.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for advancing scalable capabilities across Global Product Development.
  • Partner with leaders across Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Digital organizations to align priorities and accelerate enterprise value creation.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve launch performance, quality, productivity, traceability, collaboration, and business outcomes.
  • Develop governance, investment, and prioritization mechanisms that align resources with the opportunities expected to create the greatest value.
  • Advance the responsible use of artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, data, and digital capabilities to improve decision-making, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
  • Establish measurement systems that connect capability investments to business outcomes, adoption, and realized value.
  • Build enterprise capability by coaching leaders and team members, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities for individuals to contribute according to their strengths.
  • Promote experimentation, challenge assumptions, remove barriers, and create learning loops that help the organization continuously improve.
  • Influence enterprise outcomes through collaboration, partnership, and credibility rather than relying solely on formal authority.
  • Communicate strategy, progress, tradeoffs, risks, and results clearly to executive leadership and other stakeholders.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience across Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Digital Transformation, or related business functions.
  • Proven success leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives across complex, matrixed organizations and influencing outcomes beyond direct reporting relationships.
  • Experience developing enterprise strategies and translating them into prioritized roadmaps, governance models, investment decisions, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience leading leaders and multidisciplinary teams while aligning diverse stakeholders around shared priorities, accountability, and execution.
  • Demonstrated success delivering measurable business value through digital, AI, automation, analytics, or operational transformation initiatives.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience leading the design, development, and manufacturing of connectors, interconnect systems, cable assemblies, or other electronic connectivity components within a global manufacturing environment.
  • Experience transforming product development, New Product Introduction (NPI), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), systems engineering, or engineering execution processes.
  • Experience implementing PLM, digital thread, configuration management, traceability, requirements management, or enterprise engineering systems.
  • Experience scaling AI, automation, analytics, or digital solutions from pilot programs to enterprise-wide adoption with measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience establishing governance, portfolio management, investment prioritization, and value realization frameworks.
  • Experience leading large-scale global transformation efforts and building enterprise capabilities, communities of practice, or centers of excellence.

With annual revenues of $110 billion by 2014, the company is the largest privately held company in the United States. In 2007, it was ranked as the largest privately held company. If Koch Industries had been a public company in 2013, it would have ranked 17th in the Fortune 500. The company was founded by its namesake, Fred C. Koch, in 1940 after he developed an innovative crude oil refining process. Fred C. Koch died in 1967 and his majority interest in the company was split amongst his four sons. In June 1983, after a bitter legal and boardroom battle, the stakes of Frederick R. Koch and William "Bill" Koch were bought out for $1.1 billion and Charles Koch and David Koch became majority owners in the company. Charles owns 42% of the company; trusts for the benefit of Elaine Tettemer Marshall and Elaine's children, Preston Marshall and E. Pierce Marshall Jr., own 16% of the company. The heirs of David Koch, who died on August 23, 2019, own the balance, 42%, of the corporation.
