About the role
You'll be joining eBay's North America Commercial Operations team to support the development of our go to market strategy across the US & Canada.
Joining the business as Head of Strategy you'll work closely with the Senior Director of North America Strategy to develop market insights & unlock opportunities for eBay across the region.
What you will accomplish
- Insights: Develop rigorous analysis and business cases that drive strategic alignment, key decisions, resource allocations, and corrective actions
- Collaboration: Work across the matrix of partners to ensure we create great customer experiences while delivering on financial commitments
- Market Intel: Own the unifying market narratives for US and CA, including customer and competitive trends and the implications for eBay
- Strategic Projects: Drive ideation and analysis of potential strategic efforts, such as M&A, partnerships, and innovation
- Exec Comms: Partner with Comms to cascade strategies and priorities to the US and CA teams, and ensure aligned visions and priorities
- Planning: Guide development of operational plans and resource prioritization, to ensure executional alignment across all major initiatives and launches
- Reporting: Partner with finance/analytics to deliver timely, relevant, and insightful metrics and implications to executive leadership
- Leadership: Model eBay DNA in all interactions to drive great customer and business results
What you will bring:
- Strategy: 8yrs+ in strategy roles crafting clear frameworks, go-to-market plans, and connecting the dots for senior leaders and initiative owners
- Analytical: 8yrs+ of defining and conducting deep quant & qual research, including the ability to synthesize key insights for exec audiences
- Marketplaces: 5-7yrs+ in consumer retail or marketplaces, including a deep understanding of the key industry dynamics and growth drivers
- Collaborative: Proven ability to partner effectively across a matrix, including driving change thru alignment and influence
- Customer Centricity: Acts as the customer, seeks to understand product & competitive landscape through the eyes of buyers & sellers
- Communication: Mastery of influencing others through clear and compelling written and verbal comms
- Driven: Operates with urgency, an intrinsic focus on making impact, and a sense of extreme ownership (especially when there is ambiguity)
- Excellence: Track record of professional success; prefer experience at top tier management consulting, investment banking, or similar industries

Additional DetailsThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$178,800 - $238,700
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
