Who we are looking for

Join State Street Markets as the Head of Markets Client Intelligence, Managing Director. You will be responsible for building and leading Markets' Client Intelligence capability, transforming client, relationship, engagement, and commercial data into actionable insights that drive business growth across the Markets franchise.

You will serve as the key business leader responsible for establishing a scalable intelligence framework that enhances client engagement, identifies commercial opportunities, strengthens relationship accountability, and supports long-term franchise growth. This role will partner closely with Sales, Business Management, Technology, Data, and client-facing leadership teams to develop a transparent, enterprise-aligned approach to client intelligence that can be leveraged across Markets and the broader firm.

The ideal candidate combines commercial acumen with the technical fluency of a modern analytics and AI leader. You should be equally comfortable translating complex business objectives into scalable technology solutions, defining data requirements, developing advanced analytics frameworks, and influencing stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization.

This position will report directly to the Head of Markets Commercial & Client Strategy.

What you will be responsible for

As the Head of Client Intelligence, Managing Director, you will:
  • Build and lead the Client Intelligence function within Markets Commercial & Client Strategy, establishing its long-term vision, operating model, governance framework, and strategic priorities.
  • Develop and manage a team of client intelligence, analytics, and data professionals, expanding the capability over time as business needs evolve.
  • Create scalable intelligence frameworks that transform client, relationship, engagement, product, and revenue data into actionable commercial insights.
  • Analyze client behavior patterns across the sales lifecycle to identify opportunities to strengthen relationships, enhance commercial effectiveness, and accelerate growth.
  • Develop quantitative methodologies that improve Markets' understanding of how client engagement, relationship development, and product adoption contribute to commercial outcomes.
  • Establish leading indicators and performance metrics that support client prioritization, opportunity identification, cross-sell effectiveness, and revenue growth.
  • Leverage AI, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies to improve commercial decision making, automate insight generation, and enhance productivity across client-facing teams.
  • Oversee the development and enhancement of client scorecards, executive dashboards, relationship analytics, and commercial reporting frameworks.
  • Deliver executive-ready insights that provide senior leadership with greater transparency into relationship quality, client engagement activity, commercial momentum, and business performance.
  • Act as the primary business translation layer between Commercial & Client Strategy and Technology teams, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and delivered effectively.
  • Partner closely with Business Management, Technology, Data, Sales, Product, and Relationship Management teams to establish scalable solutions aligned with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
  • Promote data governance, transparency, and consistency across Markets and relevant enterprise stakeholders to avoid siloed solutions and maximize reuse of shared capabilities.
  • Support the ongoing evolution of Markets' strategic client engagement and client accountability frameworks through data-driven insights and analytics.
  • Drive adoption of intelligence-driven decision making across strategic account planning, client engagement, commercial management, and growth initiatives.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role:
  • Excellent understanding of capital markets, securities services, and institutional client businesses.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to connect client behavior, relationship development, and commercial outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in analytics, business intelligence, data strategy, and modern AI-enabled decision support capabilities.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational environments and influence senior stakeholders across business, technology, and data functions.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business objectives into scalable technology and analytics solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, analytics platforms, and enterprise data ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships across multiple stakeholders, functions, and business units to achieve common objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear business recommendations.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with practical execution and operational discipline.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience within financial services, capital markets, fintech, data, analytics, business management, strategy, COO, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise analytics, commercial intelligence, business management, strategy, or data-driven transformation initiatives.
  • Experience within a global financial institution, investment bank, securities services organization, market infrastructure provider, or fintech company.
  • Strong technical proficiency with analytics and data tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, cloud-based analytics environments, and modern data platforms.
  • Experience developing AI, machine learning, automation, or advanced analytics capabilities in support of business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of CRM, client intelligence, sales enablement, and relationship management platforms.
  • Experience partnering with technology organizations to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • MBA, CFA, engineering, computer science, data science, or related advanced degree preferred.

Additional Requirements
  • Travel may be required.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, highly matrixed organization.
  • Ability to build credibility with senior business, technology, and data leaders while driving alignment across competing priorities.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and lead complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution
