Full Job Description
About the role

Reunion is entering its next phase of growth, and we're hiring a Head of Marketing to level up the function. You'll own marketing end-to-end across multiple audiences (corporate buyers, clean energy developers who sell credits) and products (tax credit transfers, PWA and FEOC compliance software), work directly with the founders, and report to the CEO.
  • Our growth runs through corporate tax credit buyers; converting them and owning this number will be your top priority.
  • Credibility, via research and thought leadership, is what makes sophisticated parties (including buyers) trust us; you will turn highly technical subject matter (transferable tax credit mechanisms, PWA & FEOC regulations, due diligence arcana, and more) into thought leadership that experts respect.

This is a player-coach role. You'll set strategy and personally produce the highest-leverage work, but you won't do it all yourself. The team will include a Marketing Manager who owns day-to-day execution, in-house design and web support, outside agencies to handle production, and multiple team members contributing content and backstopping events. We expect you to grow and develop the team as we scale. You won't need to know it all on day one, but a successful person in this role will grow into a real expert and be energized by it.

What you'll do
  • Own demand-gen, especially for buyers. Carry the number for tax credit buyer demand and pipeline. Build a repeatable, measurable machine that moves corporate tax teams from "don't know us" to "ready to talk", in partnership with our stellar Business Development team. Know the funnel, understand its leverage points, and bulletproof it.
  • Lead content and thought leadership. Own Reunion's point of view and editorial bar. Set the editorial direction and priority for research, regulatory analysis, case studies, and market digests that are the core of how we earn attention. Build the machine that turns expertise from SMEs across the company into a steady, repeatable stream of thought leadership. Personally write the highest-leverage pieces. Set the bar high and get the substance and prose right.
  • Build Reunion's public profile. Distribute our stellar content to gain attention in a crowded market. Run earned media and PR, turning our data and milestones into coverage in marquee financial press. Win bigger stages at industry conferences and panels. Convert Reunion's deep web of relationships, including law firms, advisors, customers, and partners into marketing successes.
  • Set strategy across audiences and products. Build distinct motions for buyers (acquisition), sellers and developers (relationship and retention), and compliance software users (product marketing), and decide where to focus as the company scales. Bring a clear, prioritized plan rather than three of everything.
  • Steward the brand and lead the team. Take ownership of our just-revamped brand and website, keep them consistent and sharp, and evolve them as we grow. Lead, hire for, and develop a lean marketing team.

What you'll need

Must-have:
  • Senior B2B marketing leadership in a technical, regulated, or finance-adjacent space, with a large demand / pipeline number you've personally owned and scaled.
  • Command over complex subject matter: You are excited to sit with a tax lawyer and ferret out the right business implications that can turn into content. Strong, clear writing is table stakes; judgment about what is correct and what matters is the differentiator
  • A player-coach mentality: You set strategy and prioritize ruthlessly for a lean team, but still do critical work yourself.
  • AI expertise: You use AI to multiply your impact without compromising human judgment.
  • Self-sufficiency with analytics: you pull and interpret your own funnel, web, and campaign data.

Strongly recommended:
  • Thought leadership across multiple audiences and/or products, tailoring the approach while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Background in clean energy, tax, climate, structured finance, or energy-finance media.

You are curious, kind, fast-moving, and you sweat the details. You give and take feedback well, and you take ownership without being asked.

Why join us?
  • Grow a profitable company with a vision for long-term, sustainable growth
  • Engage in the nascent tax transfer market, the newest and most dynamic component of clean energy financing
  • Scale disruptive software transforming manual developer operations into streamlined and repeatable processes
  • Own marketing at a profitable, fast-growing company at an inflection point, working directly with the founders
  • Cash and equity compensation commensurate with experience, plus benefits including 401k matching, medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Travel to company offsites 2-3x per year to meet teammates in person
  • Flexible PTO plan

Location

We are a remote-first company, but for this role we prefer a candidate located in San Francisco, CA, or Seattle, WA where we have density and offices.
