ABOUT THE JOB

The Head of Indirect Strategic Supply Chain & Procurement is a Director leadership role responsible for architecting and executing the sourcing strategy & procurement operations across all indirect commodities. This includes Enterprise Software & SaaS, IT Hardware & Cloud Infrastructure, Manufacturing & Facility CapEx, Professional Services (Consulting, Legal, Contingent Labor), Facilities & Real Estate, and Corporate MRO.

This role is critical as our organization scales rapidly to meet surging global mission demands, our non-production footprint represents both our greatest engine of operational speed and a critical lever for capital efficiency. You will lead a high-performing team to build a resilient, scalable, and high-velocity supply chain capable of moving rapidly from New Product Introduction (NPI) to high-volume production. Partnering closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership, you will secure supply continuity against global market volatility, drive cost and technology roadmaps, and negotiate key commercial partnerships with global component manufacturers, distributors, and contract manufacturers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Enterprise Supply Chain Vision & Strategy: Architect and execute multi-year category strategies across key indirect domains - including Software/SaaS (Enterprise, Engineering, and Design tools), IT & Cloud Infrastructure (Compute, Storage, Telecom), Advanced Manufacturing CapEx (machinery, tooling, facility automation), Professional Services, and Contingent Workforce programs.
  • Team Leadership & Scale: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of commodity managers, strategic sourcing leads, and technical sourcing engineers across multiple global sites.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish formal SRM programs for strategic tier-1 indirect partners (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, major consulting firms, tool OEMs), conducting Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and driving continuous service improvements and innovation.
  • Cross-Functional Executive Alignment: Serve as a trusted advisor to Executive Staff, CIO, CFO, General Counsel, and Department Heads to align indirect spend strategies with corporate budgetary targets, company roadmap, and headcount plans. Conduct regular operational and strategic reviews with C-suite and executive leadership, serving as the primary executive escalation point for all critical supply chain matters.
  • Commercial & Strategic Negotiations: Lead high-stakes negotiations for master service agreements (MSAs), development agreements, long-term supply agreements (LTSAs), and complex statement of works (SOWs) - optimizing pricing structures, IP protection, warranty, payment terms, and lead-time commitments.
  • Procure-to-Pay (P2P) & Process Scale: Partner with Finance and IT to mature enterprise Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflows (e.g., Coupa, Zip, NetSuite, SAP), streamlining intake, approvals, contract lifecycle management, and supplier onboarding.
  • Supply Chain Resilience & Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with Information Security, Legal, and Compliance to ensure all software, cloud, and service vendors comply with rigorous corporate data privacy and governance standards, InfoSec standards, and defense compliance requirements (e.g., CMMC, FedRAMP, SOC 2, ITAR).
  • Cost Architecture & TCO Modeling: Implement advanced spend analytics, total cost of ownership (TCO) frameworks, and rigorous demand management practices to eliminate redundant applications, curb rogue spend, and optimize seat/license utilization.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in indirect strategic sourcing, global commodity management, or supply chain leadership within fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • 5+ years of proven experience building, managing, and scaling high-performing procurement or supply chain teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise negotiating multi-million enterprise software/SaaS agreements (e.g., ERP, CRM, CAD/PLM, Cloud), large-scale CapEx projects, and complex professional services contracts.
  • Proven track record of managing supplier lifecycles and negotiating complex multi-million-dollar commercial agreements.
  • In-depth expertise in modern procurement systems (Coupa, Zip, Ariba, etc.), contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, and spend analytics tools.
  • Ability to relocate, if not already local to be onsite in Costa Mesa.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree (MBA, MS in Finance, or MS in Information Systems) or Juris Doctorate.
  • Professional certifications (CPSM, CPM, CIPS)
  • Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or related industry
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting enterprise IT and vendors in regulated spaces (FAR/DFARS, FedRAMP, CMMC, NIST 800-171, ITAR).
  • Strong financial acumen with experience leading zero-based budgeting (ZBB) reviews and working closely with Corporate FP&A teams.
  • Strategic thinker, experienced putting together commodities strategy/roadmap with key executive stakeholders
  • Proven leadership in driving and influencing other teams to a common goal. You know how to effectively communicate and collaborate cross functionally and with all levels within an organization
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security clearance


US Salary Range

$253,000-$336,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
