LOCATION
Charlotte, North Carolina - Local candidates are strongly preferred

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
Serve as the senior finance leader for the business, reporting directly to the owner
Own cash flow management, liquidity planning, and 13-week cash forecasting
Maintain accurate financial reporting while ensuring the business remains focused on cash generation and cash-on-cash returns
Lead budgeting, forecasting, tax coordination, financial controls, and transaction readiness
Support a project-based professional services model with large engagements, complex revenue timing, and limited transaction volume
Review engagement letters, proposals, NDAs, contracts, and other business documents with a financial, operational, and commercial perspective
Partner with external advisors, including accounting, tax, and legal resources
Build a scalable, efficient finance function supported by virtual resources, outside partners, automation, and modern technology
Provide white-glove support to consultants and field leaders who are responsible for generating revenue and delivering client outcomes
Help implement and optimize systems across accounting, payroll, reporting, and business operations
Support the owner in evaluating strategic investments, profitability, growth initiatives, and future transaction opportunities

Strong commercial judgment with the ability to review engagement terms, proposals, and contracts
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working directly with an owner
Technology-forward orientation with a strong interest in AI, automation, and process improvement
Service mentality and ability to support senior consultants and field teams with urgency and professionalism
Experience in large corporate, manufacturing, or highly specialized accounting environments without project-based services exposure is less likely to translate
