The OpportunityRex is seeking a Head of Finance to build and lead the financial architecture for a growing ecosystem of operating companies, investment vehicles, and family office activities. Working directly with Peter Rex and senior leadership, this person will serve as the strategic financial quarterback for the organization, bringing visibility, rigor, and forward-looking judgment across an increasingly complex portfolio.
This role is anchored by three core mandates: building world-class financial visibility, creating disciplined capital allocation frameworks, and establishing the infrastructure required to support long-term growth. The Head of Finance will drive forecasting at ecosystem level and at each company, employee financial incentives, investment partner strategy, global cash management, debt strategy, tax planning and strategy, capital deployment oversight, banking relationships, investment inflows, intercompany allocations, and financial governance across multiple entities and business lines. They will build the systems and reporting frameworks that allow leadership to deploy capital intelligently, evaluate opportunities, manage risk, and see around corners before problems emerge. The ideal candidate brings 10-15 years of finance leadership experience within private equity, family office, holding company, investment management, or multi-entity operating environments. Candidates should have firsthand experience deploying capital, managing lender relationships, negotiating debt facilities and credit lines, overseeing sophisticated tax planning initiatives, and supporting complex ownership structures. Corporate accounting and fund accounting expertise needed, alongside fluency operating modern finance platforms such as NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Carta, or similar systems.
This is not a delegation-heavy executive role. We are looking for a builder who is equally comfortable designing strategy and personally creating the systems required to execute it. The right candidate combines exceptional financial judgment with analytical rigor, intellectual honesty, and a bias toward simplicity. They must be capable of delivering hard truths with clarity and conviction while bringing order to highly complex environments. This role requires high agency, strong business judgment, and deep alignment with what we are building. We are looking for a trusted advisor, capital allocator, and operator capable of helping steward and scale a multi-entity enterprise over the long term. Must deeply believe in the mission. Not for mercenaries. Only for missionaries.
About the RoleThis role exists to build and lead the financial architecture for a growing ecosystem of operating companies, investment vehicles, and family office activities. This role exists to give leadership clear visibility, disciplined judgment, and real-time control across a complex, multi-entity platform.
