Head of Field Service, Site Management
York, PA

The Head of Field Service, Site Management is responsible for the strategic and operational management of site activities across a diverse portfolio of hydropower projects in the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive operational excellence by implementing department strategy, standards, processes, and tools consistently across the region.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Site Management team, ensuring team performance aligns with project and company goals.
  • Oversee site execution, ensuring safe delivery in compliance with contractual requirements, HSE standards, project schedules, budgets, quality expectations, regulatory requirements, and Voith standards.
  • Drive workforce and capacity planning by creating transparency on current and forecasted resource needs, maintaining a qualified pool of team members and optimizing staff allocation across the project portfolio.
  • Monitor site performance through key performance indicators.
  • Support bid and planning phases by ensuring site management requirements are properly considered.
  • Promote a strong construction focus across the value chain and the project life cycle.
  • Collaborate with global and regional stakeholders to continuously improve site management practices, tools, and competencies.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, international environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, structured, and results-oriented leadership style.
  • Ability to develop teams, manage resources, and drive performance across multiple projects and locations.
  • Fluency in English is required; French is considered an asset.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management roles in similar industries, preferably in hydro, energy, heavy industry, or large-scale industrial projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managerial roles.
  • Strong understanding of HSE, quality, project execution, subcontractor management, risk management, budgeting, planning, and change management.
