About the RoleWe're looking for a
Head of Banking Operations to own Crimson ops end-to-end. You'll manage our bank partner relationships, own the P&L for Crimson, and drive the operational roadmap for how we provide better user outcomes (disputes, suspensions, support) and deepen engagement (more deposits and spend). This is a player-coach role: you'll set strategy with senior leadership, but you'll also dig into the operational details when the work demands it.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will...- Own the bank partner relationship portfolio: manage our existing partners and evaluate new ones as we expand into new products and geographies. Support negotiations on commercial terms, operational SLAs, and integration roadmaps
- Run money movement at scale: own the operational health of ACH, OCT, AFT, and cash rails. Drive cost-per-transaction down and reliability up.
- Lead banking operations execution: build the playbook, SLA, and automation for disputes, suspensions, and support
- Own the P&L: set the budget, manage banking partner spend, and drive the cost-efficiency roadmap. Hold the function accountable to clear financial targets.
- Influence the roadmap: partner with Product and Engineering on payments infrastructure investments, and with Legal & Compliance on regulatory strategy.
We're excited about you because...- You've done this before. 7+ years in banking operations, treasury operations, or payments operations at a high-growth tech, fintech, or financial services company, with at least 2 years of people management.
- You've owned a P&L or a meaningful budget. Comfortable holding the function accountable to financial targets, not just operational ones.
- You've managed bank or BaaS partners. Direct experience negotiating with and operating against banking partners (e.g., Stripe, Marqeta, Adyen, Galileo, or sponsor banks).
- You influence across functions. Track record of brokering decisions across Finance, Legal, Product, and Engineering - you build credibility quickly with technical and non-technical partners alike.
- You're a builder. You've taken a manual, scrappy operation and turned it into a scaled, well-controlled function.
Nice to Haves- Experience at a marketplace or two-sided platform
- Familiarity with embedded finance and BaaS partner models
- International money movement experience (multi-currency, cross-border)
