Objective / Purpose
The Head, Global Product Ownership serves as the enterprise leader accountable for defining, implementing, and continuously improving the product ownership model for the Global BioLife organization. Global Product Owners (GPOs) serve as the single accountable voice of the business for one or more physical or digital BioLife products (platforms and devices); this leader owns the model managed and implemented by the GPO team, including end-to-end product vision, strategy, and prioritized backlogs for the products that run, enable, and support plasma collection operations. The role ensures all products safely and efficiently enable and deliver BioLife's operational and strategic objectives, including donor experience, cost efficiency, competitive positioning, center throughput, plasma yield, and regulatory compliance.
This role bridges frontline business-critical operations, strategy, regulatory, quality, medical, and DD&T delivery teams. It sets the future-state direction for all products, translates operational problems into documented and aligned product roadmaps, and leads a team of business product owners who partner day-to-day with key stakeholders across the PDT landscape.
Accountabilities
• Define, implement, and continuously improve the Global Product Operating Model (GPOM) and the enterprise product-ownership standards, governance, decision rights, and ways of working for BioLife products, both digital platforms and physical devices.
• Own the global product landscape, including product scope, ownership, customers, dependencies, lifecycle stage, strategic value, and intended operational outcomes.
• Define and govern product vision and multi-year roadmaps; maintain prioritized backlogs and ensure investments are linked to outcome-based KPIs, including operational, financial, donor, quality, and compliance measures.
• Establish a product governance process that ensures alignment between global product roadmaps, BioLife strategy, business priorities, and future-state capabilities and represent it through well-managed, prioritized product feature backlogs.
• Lead end-to-end product portfolio lifecycle management-from intake and prioritization through delivery readiness, implementation, adoption, performance monitoring, continuous improvement, and retirement or replacement decisions.
• Provide strategic direction for product investment, resource allocation, and budget decisions; recommend whether to allocate, continue, accelerate, redirect, or stop initiatives that do not align to approved global product strategy.
• Bring the voice of customers, donors, operators, and business stakeholders into product strategy through structured field engagement, research, workflow analysis, feedback, and performance data.
• Partner across DD&T, operations, quality, regulatory, medical, finance, and analytics hroughout the full product lifecycle to align requirements, prioritization, release planning, testing, validation, implementation, adoption, performance measurement, and value realization.
• Build, lead and develop a high-performing team of Global Product Owners; assign product accountability based on capability and capacity, and act as an escalation point for cross-functional prioritization and roadmap decisions.
• Partner with quality and regulatory to ensure products comply with current and future requirements, including FDA, EMA, GMP, and other applicable standards; partner with deployment and change-management teams to enable rapid, effective, and sustainable adoption of new features and changes across the applicable user community.
• Assume direct product accountability when required by strategic importance, complexity, risk, or resource demand.
Education & Competencies (Technical and Behavioral)
Essential qualifications and competencies
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or comparable advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in business, operations, and product-ownership for enterprise operational or clinical technology platforms.
• Demonstrated experience leading people and building high-performing teams.
• Proven ownership of product vision, roadmap, and backlog for a mission-critical, regulated operational system from inception through deployment and scale.
• Strong experience in regulated healthcare, plasma, dialysis, or clinical operations; direct plasma or comparable clinical-operations product experience strongly preferred.
• Deep understanding of Agile delivery, SDLC, requirements definition, product governance and outcome/KPI-based product management.
• Customer-obsessed and data-driven; ability to translate customer, operator, and business needs into quantifiable problem statements, solution hypotheses, product strategies, prioritized backlogs, measurable outcomes, and workflow improvements.
• Proven ability to influence senior technical, clinical/medical, operational, quality, regulatory, and business stakeholders; outstanding communication, presentation, executive-influencing, strategic prioritization, negotiation and decision-making skills.
• Enterprise-minded and outcomes-focused leader pairing creative, visionary thinking with strong strategic judgment, analytical and problem-solving capability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lead complex change across a global, regulated environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead effectively through ambiguity, organizational change, and evolving business priorities.
Preferred qualifications
• Experience harmonizing, modernizing, or scaling legacy operational platforms across multiple geographies.
• Experience leading product strategy for consumer-facing, EHR, clinical-documentation, or comparable healthcare systems.
• Track record of establishing product-ownership capabilities, including operating models, standards, governance, tooling, and talent development.
• Experience managing complex portfolios involving both digital platforms and physical devices.
• Experience leading enterprise change or global operating-model implementation.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$212,000.00 - $333,190.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives.
