About the Role

As a Hardware Engineering Program Specialist, you'll help drive the development of Verkada's next generation of hardware products. Working alongside experienced Engineering Program Managers and cross-functional engineering teams, you'll support programs from early development through product launch while building the technical and operational skills needed to grow into a Program Manager role.
This position is designed for early-career engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, collaborating across teams, and bringing products from concept to production. Whether you've recently graduated or have a few years of relevant experience, you'll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact while learning from experienced leaders across engineering, manufacturing, and operations.
This is a full-time, in-person role based in our San Mateo, CA office.
What You'll Do
  • Support the planning and execution of new hardware development programs from prototype through production.
  • Partner with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to keep projects on track.
  • Track schedules, milestones, risks, and action items across multiple hardware programs.
  • Coordinate engineering builds, prototype logistics, and validation activities.
  • Assist with product bring-up, manufacturing readiness, and new product introductions.
  • Help identify risks, remove blockers, and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
  • Prepare project status updates and presentations for engineering leadership.
  • Work with domestic and international manufacturing partners throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Travel internationally up to 20% to support new product introductions and manufacturing activities.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Physics
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, research, or full-time experience are all considered).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects through internships, research, student organizations, athletics, or other leadership experiences.
  • Passion for consumer electronics, hardware development, and manufacturing.

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
