Responsibilities

Noblis is seeking an experienced Enterprise Hardware Specialist and VDI Engineer with a strong DevOps background to support the lifecycle of our next-generation endpoint architecture. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, configuring, managing, and deploying client workstations across our enterprise.

The selected candidate will bridge the gap between hardware infrastructure and automated software deployment by maintaining the FAA's development and test labs, ensuring absolute environment consistency, and managing master configurations and images.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Zero/Thin Client Engineering: Design, configure, deploy, and manage the lifecycle of 10ZiG Zero Client endpoints. Maintain and optimize configurations and master images to ensure seamless user experiences. Support operational deployments and facility configurations.
  • VDI Management: Administer and optimize connection to VDI infrastructure, ensuring performance tuning, system hardening, and seamless desktop delivery to endpoints.
  • Dev/Test Lab: Maintain, organize, and support dedicated development and test lab environments. Ensure lab infrastructure mirrors the operational baseline and production standards for accurate testing.
  • DevOps: Implement DevOps methodologies to ensure strict configuration consistency across development, test, and production environments. Utilize automation to minimize configuration drift.
  • Hardware Infrastructure Management: Maintain laboratory hardware infrastructure, including server racking, cable management, system maintenance, and maintaining lab environments. Manage and maintain hardware components including client workstations, KVMs, and console servers.
  • Patch and Asset Management: Track software/firmware lifecycles and execute enterprise-wide patch management strategies. Oversee firmware and software patch management schedules for all endpoints and lab hardware.Track, audit, and log hardware assets througout their lifecycle.
  • Technical Documentation: Author, maintain, and update high-quality technical procedures, including System Support Modifications, architectural diagrams, configuration guides, and spreadsheets

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience with Bachelor's of science degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience working in an agile DevOps environment with a focus on automation, continuous integration, and infrastructure reproducibility.
  • Strong background as a hardware specialist, including server racking, cable management, system maintenance, and maintaining lab environments.
  • Demonstrated experience tracking software/firmware lifecycles and executing enterprise-wide patch management strategies.
  • Exceptional ability to write clear, concise, and structured technical documentation for engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate tasks and endpoint configurations.
  • Familiarity with GitLab for managing tasks, modifications, and testing.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals.
  • U.S Citizen or Green Card Permanent resident (3+ years)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with FAA air traffic control systems
  • Experience supporting lab and/or test environments, including rack-based systems, labs, and/or data center environments
  • Familiarity with configuration management and change control
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

Posted Salary Range

USD $95,500.00 - USD $149,200.00 /Yr.
