Full Job Description
We are seeking a talented and versatile hardware engineer to contribute to the research, development and maintenance of our next generation image acquisition system by using the latest image sensors or state-of-art camera products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware engineering, practical projects experience in building multi-camera rigs, coupled with proficiency in software development, to design, implement, and optimize integrated systems for virtual production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Research, design and develop image acquisition system
Familiar with the image sensor terminologies and data transfer protocol.
Design Printed Circuit Boards for camera systems using the latest image sensors and processors.
Write Verilog HDL/VHDL for onboard FPGA to drive the image sensor and process the data at real-time.
Design and implement the popular computer interface protocol for data transfer.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement improvements.
Software development for camera rig control, data transfer and performance analysis
Design and develop camera control software (web-based, python or C++), provide user-friendly UI for stage operator to control the camera rigs
Design and develop data transfer protocol, harvest mechanism and injection pipeline. Quick turn-around is a high priority to enable the camera rigs’ bandwidth.
Design and develop a system monitor to detect and report the status of the camera rig, and provide a solution for efficient troubleshooting.
System integration, maintenance and support:
Work efficiently and effectively with the other stage team to integrate the image rig to other stage system components.
