Job DescriptionOverviewAtkinsRealis is seeking a H&S Compliance Inspector (Construction) to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.
The successful candidate will report to the Health & Safety Manager. The purpose of this role is to support the project achieving top-tier Safety results. This involves interfacing across all project teams to establish solid relationships, provide leadership on Safety elements, conduct inspection, audit and verification activities of own and contractor/subcontractor systems and activities, analyze safety related data, and develop processes for the continued improvement of Safety performance.
Your roleTo perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with legislation, project procedures and operational requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with project safety requirements, including reporting, compliance checks, and incident investigation.
- Provides subject matter expertise, advice, and guidance with respect to relevant health and safety matters across the program.
- Works collaboratively with the contractor to confirm that the measures set out in the project-specific safety plan are effectively implemented.
- Undertakes periodic assessments/audits across sites and prepare detailed reports with documented findings, identify opportunities for improvement and recommends corrective actions.
- Monitor and track safety performance trends and escalate significant non-compliance to management level for escalation to the appropriate decision makers.
About you- BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirement:
- Typically, a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in on-site health and safety role (construction compliance, inspection, coordinator, onboarding and training, and/or reporting).
- Extensive experience in working within construction environments, major infrastructure/aviation program experience is considered an asset.
- Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing effective health and safety management plans.
- Strong knowledge of construction legislations, regulations and industry best practices.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and comfortable in working with the owner, consultants, and contractors.

Additional informationExpected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $100,200 - $137,700 annually) (Only Applicable to Ontario). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
