About the role

As a Guidewire PolicyCenter Functional Specialist, you will make an impact by driving the successful analysis, configuration, and optimization of insurance policy administration solutions using Guidewire PolicyCenter. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, QA teams, and project leadership to deliver high-quality insurance technology solutions.

In this role, you will:
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for Guidewire PolicyCenter solutions.
  • Partner with business and technical teams to design, configure, and enhance PolicyCenter functionality, including Guidewire Rating capabilities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on insurance product configuration, rating logic, and policy administration processes.
  • Support testing activities, validate system enhancements, and ensure solutions meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot functional issues, and recommend improvements to optimize user experience and operational efficiency.

What you need to have to be considered
  • 8+ years of experience delivering insurance technology solutions, with strong expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter.
  • Deep knowledge of Guidewire Rating concepts, configuration, and policy administration processes.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Proven track record of supporting implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of insurance software platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex business and system challenges.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across business and technical teams.

These will help you stand out
  • Experience working within Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance environments.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Guidewire implementations, upgrades, or transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with insurance product configuration, underwriting workflows, and policy lifecycle management.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying current with Guidewire product capabilities and industry trends.

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $100,000 - $115,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
