Job Description

Role Mission

The Manager, Talent Development, is responsible for supporting and activating Gucci's People Development strategy across the Americas, with a focus on the retail organization as the Gucci America's largest population. The role partners closely with HR People Partners, business leaders, Retail Training, and Global Gucci HR to translate talent priorities into meaningful development experiences that strengthen leadership capability, accelerate employee growth, and support business performance.

This role supports People Development priorities, including talent development, leadership programs, talent reviews, succession planning, development actions, manager communities, stretch assignments, career growth, and onboarding and induction.

The role also partners with the Kering L&D team, who serves as the primary point of contact for the delivery and management of learning solutions, including the learning catalogue, training operations, learning platforms, functional academies, compliance training, and enterprise learning deployment.

Key Accountabilities

People Development Strategy & Talent

  • Support the execution of Gucci's People Development strategy and priorities across retail and corporate populations in the Americas.
  • Partner with HR People Partners and business leaders to identify development needs, capability gaps, and targeted actions that support individual growth and business priorities.
  • Support talent review and succession planning processes, including the coordination and follow-through of individual development plans for identified talent and successors.
  • Support the coordination and deployment of development actions such as coaching, mentoring, stretch assignments, cross-functional exposure, manager-led development, and internal mobility opportunities.
  • Drive awareness and adoption of Talent Match, Career Hub, and other Gucci development tools that support career ownership, internal mobility, and talent visibility.

Leadership & Manager Development

  • Support the design, localization, and activation of Gucci leadership and manager development programs aligned with House priorities and leadership expectations.
  • Facilitate leadership programs, manager communities, workshops, and targeted development experiences for retail leaders, emerging talent, and corporate populations.
  • Partner with leaders and HR teams to embed development actions into day-to-day people management practices and sustain a culture of continuous growth.

Onboarding & Induction

  • Own and continuously enhance Gucci Americas onboarding and integration experiences, with a particular focus on the retail organization.
  • Support corporate onboarding experiences, where necessary, that build cultural connection, business understanding, role readiness, and employee engagement.
  • Partner with HR, Retail Training, and business stakeholders to ensure onboarding journeys are consistent, relevant, and tailored to key populations and role transitions.
  • Monitor onboarding effectiveness and recommend improvements based on business feedback, employee insights, and evolving organizational needs.

Kering L&D Partnership

  • Function as the Gucci Americas People Development partner to the Kering L&D team, ensuring Gucci development priorities are understood and appropriately connected to available learning solutions.
  • Direct learning catalogue, training operations, learning platform, functional academy, compliance training, and enterprise learning deployment requests to Kering L&D team as the primary point of contact.
  • Coordinate with the Kering L&D team on the local activation of relevant enterprise learning solutions while maintaining clear accountability between Kering-owned learning delivery and Gucci-owned People Development strategy.
  • Gather business feedback and insights on Kering L&D solutions and share recommendations to support relevance, adoption, and continuous improvement.

Talent Insights & Program Governance

  • Use survey feedback, talent data, and business insights to identify development priorities, leverage competitive intelligence and recommend focused actions.
  • Develop communications, toolkits, guides, and resources that increase awareness and adoption of Gucci People Development initiatives. Maintain program plans, budgets, vendor partnerships, participation data, and effectiveness measures for Gucci-owned development initiatives.
  • Track impact and provide clear reporting on participation, feedback, outcomes, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with Retail Training to ensure role-specific capability building complements Gucci's broader People Development strategy without duplicating ownership.
