Role Summary
The Growth Director leads capability innovation and management alongside portfolio-level growth strategy, translating enterprise objectives into direction for solutions. This role has broader scope than an individual contributor or manager, influencing executive priorities while owning team-level growth outcomes and budget. It exists to ensure the company's growth strategy evolve with subject-matter depth and consistency within its area of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team leadership: has direct reports and manages one or more workstreams on behalf of the team
  • Manages subject matter expertise (SME) and thought leadership for multiple topic areas, and for multiple capabilities; includes expertise in market development, solution development, solution design, & implementation planning
  • Manages a budget, including team costs and cross-charging
  • Owns categories of goals related to the broader team, and reports on goal metrics on behalf of the team
  • Contribute to the enterprise-wide growth strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term company objectives and market positioning
  • Influence the executive team on investment priorities and strategic direction, particularly in area of SME and thought leadership
  • Responsible for team outcomes, ensuring resources are directed to the highest impact opportunities
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with external stakeholders to expand opportunities
  • Delivers client or partner presentations on areas of SME with little preparation and no guidance
  • Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making and accountability across the team
  • Represent the organization's strategic agenda in industry forums and events


Expected Qualifying Experience:
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams to deliver programs, or deliver energy and environmental consulting and management to clients
  • Demonstrated leadership in energy program design
  • Expertise working with utilities directly in regulated energy markets
  • Strong business acumen, and the ability to present team results and goal attainment to senior leadership
  • Knowledge of capabilities required to deliver contracted work, along with the capacity to add value as a SME
  • Demonstrated leadership in crafting narratives in pursuit of growth project goals
  • Industry presence, and ability to present comfortably as a thought leader to internal and external stakeholders


Canadian Commercial Driving Requirements

If applicable, meet all qualification, licensing, medical, and compliance requirements for commercial drivers under applicable provincial and territorial laws, the Canadian National Safety Code (NSC), and any federal regulations for extra-provincial operations, including hours-of-service and safety fitness requirements.
