The Group Manager is responsible for digital customer experiences that deepen customer engagement with 7-Eleven and support growth across consumer-facing products and services. This role leads product strategy for experiences that help customers discover, try and return to relevant services across the brand, while also ensuring the foundational digital capabilities needed to deliver those experiences are reliable, measurable and scalable. This leader will lead a team of product managers across multiple time zones and develop clear recommendations and investment plans for leadership review.
Responsibilities:
40% Strategy & Planning
- Owns the strategy and roadmap for customer engagement experiences and supporting digital capabilities, ensuring priorities improve discovery, activation, personalization, service adoption, and overall experience quality.
- Establishes a documented strategy and clear ownership model for each area in scope, including how customer experiences will improve discovery, activation, repeat engagement, and use of relevant brand services.
- Defines the roadmap framework for internal stakeholders, manages sequencing across competing priorities, and ensures commitments reflect customer needs, business value, and delivery feasibility.
- Leads improvements to the customer account experience across banners, including registration, authentication, onboarding, eligibility-based verification, and account consolidation, while accounting for legal, privacy and fraud requirements.
- Sets the strategy for personalization and experience orchestration, including how content, offers, services and customer journeys are structured, targeted and prioritized to encourage deeper engagement with the brand.
- Identifies goals, metrics and analytical measures that demonstrate customer engagement, service adoption, experience quality and platform value, while balancing new experience development with ongoing reliability and technical debt priorities.
30% Delivery & Execution
- Ensures product discovery occurs early in the development process, with clear problem definition, customer insight, research and design alignment before engineering execution begins.
- Maintains clear readiness standards for product work, including customer journeys, acceptance criteria, key edge cases and measurable outcomes, and coordinates dependent workstreams to reduce rework.
- Makes product decisions on cross-functional tradeoffs, resolves conflicts across related workstreams, and escalates issues when leadership alignment is required.
- Leads execution of customer journeys that improve awareness, trial, repeat usage and cross-service engagement, ensuring experience requirements are clear and connected to measurable customer and business outcomes.
- Defines product requirements for instrumentation, experience monitoring, issue detection and regression coverage so quality and reliability are measured alongside customer engagement and delivery progress.
- Translates complex customer experience, platform and architectural concepts into clear business language for cross-functional partners and senior leaders.
30% Team & Stakeholder
- Leads and develops a team of product managers, including senior product managers, and is accountable for their performance and growth rather than only for the output of the area.
- Establishes and improves operating models, including product and engineering ownership, intake processes for customer experience and platform requests, and meeting cadences that support effective execution.
- Represents the portfolio in business reviews and planning forums, develops investment recommendations, and provides clear accountability for product decisions and tradeoffs.
- Manages expectations with cross-functional partners in engineering, design, marketing, legal and analytics, and supports prioritization based on customer impact, business value and delivery feasibility.
- Participates in talent acquisition, development and retention in support of a growing global team.
