Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Analyst will support the evaluation, strategy, and execution of interconnection for utility-scale solar, energy storage, and other clean energy projects across U.S. markets.

This role spans the full development lifecycle-from early-stage siting through interconnection agreement execution, construction, and commissioning-working cross-functionally to ensure efficient, cost-effective grid integration of the company's pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

Interconnection Strategy & Execution
  • Support all aspects of the interconnection process, including queue strategy, application preparation, and study execution.
  • Evaluate transmission constraints, interconnection options, and economic viability to inform siting and development decisions.
  • Track and manage projects through RTO/ISO and utility study processes (e.g., SRIS, Facilities Studies).

Technical Analysis & Study Management
  • Review and interpret interconnection study results, including power flow, short-circuit, and stability analyses.
  • Identify network upgrade requirements, cost exposure, and schedule risks.
  • Manage third-party consultants performing interconnection modeling and studies; define scope, review deliverables, and ensure quality.

Cross-Functional Support
  • Partner with Development, Engineering, and Construction teams on grid integration risks, timelines, and costs.
  • Support negotiations of interconnection agreements and related technical requirements.
  • Provide clear, actionable insights to non-technical stakeholders to support investment and development decisions.

Market & Regulatory Awareness
  • Develop working knowledge of interconnection procedures, tariffs, and market rules across key ISOs/RTOs and utilities.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory frameworks and interconnection reforms impacting project timelines and economics.


Qualifications

Technical Skills
  • Understanding of power system fundamentals, including transmission planning and generator interconnection processes.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Power flow (load flow), short-circuit, and stability studies
    • High-voltage equipment (e.g., transformers, breakers, substations)
  • Experience with power system modeling tools such as: PSS4E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, ETAP, or similar
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical results into clear, concise recommendations.


Professional Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication across technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience managing external consultants or technical workstreams preferred


Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (power systems preferred)
  • Experience:
    • Analyst: 1-3 years relevant experience
    • Senior Analyst: 3-5+ years relevant experience (developer, utility, ISO/RTO, or consulting)
  • Familiarity with transmission planning, interconnection processes, or grid studies
  • Experience with at least one major power system modeling tool
  • Preferred:
    • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
    • Python or scripting experience
