Grade 2 Teacher Emerson-Williams Elementary SchoolMay 2026Emerson-Williams Elementary School is seeking a motivated and dedicated professional to serve as our Grade 2 Teacher to fill an opening. The position is vital to our school as the staff member has regular and influential interaction with students, staff and parents/families. This role will be filled immediately.

Compensation: $57,847-$114,618 (full-time annual)

Duties & Responsibilities:- Partner with colleagues to plan, create and deliver daily lesson plans;
- Provide instruction (individually and in groups) using a variety of teaching methods to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and varying needs/interests;
- Prepare materials for classroom activities;
- Observe, assess and communicate student progress (academic, behavioral, social, physical);
- Manage classroom behavior and employ positive behavior practices to drive culture/climate;
- Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring additional support;
- Explore and deliver creative class experiential activities;
- Actively participate in wide variety of school day and extracurricular events as planned, including activities centered around professional development;
- Responsibly fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree;
- Appropriate CT Certification credentials are preferred, but not required;
- Background, experience
- Excellent oral communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills to interact with students, staff and parents;
- Ability to plan and organize work schedule and set priorities and work independently and with a sense of urgency;
- Excellent classroom management skills with both small and large groups;
- Ability to handle and treat information confidentially
