Position Description

Purpose
The purpose of this role is to deliver efficient and effective technical and administrative support and successfully complete assigned projects according to specifications. The primary role of this position is building accurate GPS models, supporting the grading, underground, and concrete department, perform and provide support with Teichert's Drone Program, which includes but not limited to being Part 107 certified, flying a drone to perform a site topography, processing the imagery to develop a surface, and layout flight crosses to provide accuracy.

Company / Entity

  2. Proactively identifies, and communicates, safety improvements and hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions to maintain a safe, healthy work environment and meet corporate safety standards.

Technical / Specialty Area
  1. Model building for rough grade and finish grade of subdivisions, site work, and roads and highways according to Teichert's standards with some direction.
  2. Provides up to date and accurate model files to the field on a timely basis and can manage and prioritize workload according to field needs.
  3. Works with project management staff and engineers to obtain CAD files, approved plans, and control points for modeling use.
  4. Provides up to date earthwork calculations based on field topographies vs. the current model.
  5. Coverts and incorporates tie out information, provided from the field, in the model for field use.
  6. A collaborative, responsive modeler who builds strong relationships with all project stakeholders, swiftly implements revisions with clear status updates, and continuously learns from team experts to enhance modeling and topographic processes.
  7. Ability to meet all expected deadlines while paying close attention to detail and maintaining accuracy.
  8. Project site visits as needed to fully support our field crews, superintendents, and project management group.
  9. Ability to be flexible, adapts to evolving demands, and efficiently processes grading plans, revisions, and survey data.
  10. Provides asset coordination, allocation, management and technical training and support to field personnel.
  11. Support the GPS Hardware Technician with troubleshooting needs.
  12. Understand and follow all FAA laws and regulations regarding UAS - Unmanned Aircraft System flights.
  13. Willing to topo a project using a UAS as needed, sometimes without prior notification.
  14. Walk project sites and properly set up project control for UAS flight while maintaining constant attention on UAS while in flight.

Role Qualifications & Requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
  • Possession of a valid Part 107 certification
Experience & Industry Expertise:
  • Takeoff experience using AGTEK or Trimble Business Center preferred.
  • Experience using AutoCAD preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret grading plans and specifications.
  • Grading field experience preferred.
Specific Job Requirements:
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
  • Current on all company required safety training
  • Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts-of-interest
  • Ability to read and interpret grading plans and specifications - Ability to utilize computer aided systems and equipment

Equipment Used:

Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Physical: Sitting for long periods of time working at the computer or driving to job sites. Job site visits require walking on uneven ground, climbing, bending, and stooping. Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work long hours during peak seasons.
  • Work Environment: Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise. Exposed to the conditions of job sites which can include loud noise, dust, fumes, and extreme weather conditions prevalent at the time. May work various shifts or hours, including early mornings, dusk or evenings.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$97,500.00 - $136,500.00
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
