This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers,
we are seeking a highly communicative and strategic
Government Quality Liaison to serve as the primary quality interface between our organization and our government partners, including but not limited to National Security Space Launch (NSSL), the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), and NASA.
Operating within our Quality Assurance organization, this role functions as the central "hub" in a hub-and-spoke model. While our internal Quality Program Managers (the spokes) drive quality execution and certification efforts for specific internal programs and systems, the Government Quality Liaison manages all external-facing communication, compliance reporting, and relationship management with government stakeholders. You will translate complex external requirements into actionable internal directives and ensure our government partners have a seamless, transparent, and single-point-of-contact experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesExternal Partner Management• Serve as the primary external-facing representative for the Quality Assurance organization, managing daily interactions, inquiries, and reviews with government partners and regulatory agencies.
• Lead customer quality reviews, host external audits, and present quality metrics, risk assessments, and certification milestones to government stakeholders.
• Act as the authoritative voice of the customer regarding quality expectations, ensuring government standards are clearly understood and upheld.
Internal Program Coordination • Interface daily with internal Quality Program Managers to aggregate data, assess program health, and align internal quality strategies with external customer expectations.
• Triage and distribute customer requirements, corrective actions, and quality inquiries to the appropriate internal QPMs.
• Consolidate complex quality data from multiple internal programs into cohesive, executive-level reports for external consumption.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve cross-program quality issues, ensuring consistent application of quality standards before presenting solutions to the customer.
Basic Qualifications • 7+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality management, or program management within a highly regulated industry (aerospace, defense, or similar).
• Proven track record of direct, external-facing communication with government customers, defense agencies, or regulatory bodies.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs.
• Strong working knowledge of government quality and certification standards.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate highly technical internal data into clear customer-facing narratives.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications • Direct experience interfacing and building relationships with DCMA and NASA representatives.
• Experience operating within a matrixed or hub-and-spoke organizational structure.
• Familiarity with complex certification efforts for aerospace systems.
• Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, capable of balancing internal operational constraints with strict customer requirements.
