Full Job Description
You will lead revenue growth across BlackStar Orbital's government, defense, aerospace, and commercial space markets. Your industry relationships and technical sales experience will help move complex opportunities from initial customer engagement through proposal, negotiation, award, and revenue. You will work closely with the VP of Sales, executive leadership, and engineering teams to shape solutions that address customer mission, technical, schedule, and budget requirements. If you understand the aerospace and space ecosystem and know how to combine relationship-driven business development with disciplined deal execution, this role offers meaningful influence on BlackStar's growth.

WORKSITE: Central Florida preferred; exceptional candidates in other major aerospace and defense markets may be considered

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time; regular business travel required

PAY RATE: $100,000 base salary plus performance-based sales incentives

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Develop and execute sales strategies across government, defense, aerospace, and commercial space markets.

Build, qualify, and manage a pipeline of new opportunities aligned with BlackStar's growth priorities and revenue targets.

Sell BlackStar capabilities, including downmass solutions, engineering and technical services, space transportation, and payload and mission support.

Develop relationships with government agencies, defense organizations, prime contractors, commercial space companies, strategic partners, and teaming organizations.

Leverage existing industry relationships to accelerate customer introductions, discovery conversations, and opportunity development.

Lead customer discovery and translate mission, technical, schedule, procurement, and budget requirements into viable opportunities and solution strategies.

Partner with engineering and technical teams to develop credible customer solutions, value propositions, and proposal content.

Manage opportunities from initial engagement through capture, proposal development, negotiation, award, and conversion into revenue.

Support government and defense capture strategies, procurement planning, and strategic teaming opportunities.

Maintain accurate pipeline data, forecasts, opportunity stages, probability assessments, and next actions.

Provide market intelligence on customers, competitors, procurement activity, funding priorities, and emerging opportunities.

Partner closely with the VP of Sales and executive leadership on account strategy, growth priorities, and revenue performance.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

At least three years of aerospace, defense, space, or highly technical sales or business development experience.

Demonstrated success selling engineering services, technical services, or complex aerospace and space solutions.

Established relationships within the aerospace, defense, government, or commercial space ecosystem.

Experience developing, advancing, negotiating, and closing complex, high-value opportunities.

Ability to engage credibly with technical, mission, procurement, contracting, program, and executive stakeholders.

Government and defense contracting, capture management, or proposal experience is highly valued.

Strong communication, relationship development, negotiation, presentation, forecasting, and pipeline-management skills.

Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, rapidly growing organization with evolving priorities.

Direct experience with space downmass and an existing network of customers, partners, and industry relationships is strongly preferred.

Ability to travel regularly for customer meetings, government and defense engagements, conferences, partner meetings, and BlackStar onsite collaboration.
