Government Affairs Director

Reporting to the Vice President Government Affairs, this position will develop and implement Nebraska Medicine's government affairs, public policy and advocacy agenda, under the direction of senior leadership. Establish and manage successful relations at all levels of government. Implement strategies to identify, influence and achieve desired legislative and regulatory outcomes at all levels of government. Engage system leaders in relevant discussions on local, state and national levels to legislative and advocacy priorities of the health system. Support external relationships with health policy stakeholders and take a leadership role in coalition advocacy efforts. Identify, analyze, track, strategize, and advocate on local, state and federal policy initiatives that may impact the health system. Ensure health system leaders who interact with government representatives and agencies are appropriately briefed and educated about Nebraska Medicine's strategy. Educate internal stakeholders regarding the potential impact of proposed legislation and prepare timely recommendations and communications for health system leaders. Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to identify and address health system advocacy needs.
