Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $102,100.00 - $170,100.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to % or $ $31,400.00, based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Position Details
The Government Sales Manager role is responsible to provide both corporate and site-specific account relationship development at large, multi-site strategic accounts. These accounts will generally represent 1-8, state, local, and or education multi-site locations 60; $15 Million with between $70 M and greater than $300 M in MRO potential. This role is responsible for initiating the relationship (new account development), developing existing accounts (account penetration), and managing accounts (maintaining and enhancing account relationships). This role is responsible for negotiating, implementing and ensuring compliance to agreements with strategic accounts. This role also develops, expands, and maintains agreements that deliver strong revenue growth within Grainger's value proposition while improving profitability.

You Will
• Develop, maintain and grow Co-operative, Agency and segment executive relationships to drive contract compliance, expansion and to ensure Grainger becomes the organizations primary MRO provider in both product and services.
• Provide functional direction with the Co-operative, Agency and segment as required to support the field in the planning, penetration and barrier removal.
• Responsible for negotiating, maintaining, implementing profitable agreements, both with the customer and field-based sales resources and Grainger resources.
• Develop and implement Government key initiatives and programs that ensure revenue, cost and profitability targets are achieved.
• Responsible for comprehensive market analysis to determine segment focus areas and develop overall short-term and long-term segment strategies in collaboration with segment strategy team.
• Provides expertise to internal business partners establishing a deep understanding of needs, attitudes, and behaviors across segments and develops actionable insights that drive customer engagement and demand. While working cross functionally to ensure that the Co-operative, Agency and segment strategy solutions are in place and executed.
• Develop and collaborate with DA/Small Business partners to leverage government set aside spend.

You Have
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 5+ years professional experience including Sales team leadership
• None
• Deep understanding within the government marketplace, stakeholders and government policies.
• Experience winning large complex contract negotiations and realization.
• Demonstrated experience in influencing the external environment and internal leadership levels, associations, customers, resellers, and related markets, with a proven track record of cultivating effective relationships both internally and externally.
• Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver results aligned with business objectives.
• Ability to develop forward-looking solutions and drive improvements aligned with long-term business goal.
• Demonstrated ability to provide clear and effective verbal and written communications that are easily understood and by multiple audiences.
• Financial acumen/ ability to manage budgets and understand financial models.
• Estimated travel expected 20-25%.
