Global Sourcing Manager

Role Overview

The Global Sourcing Manager is responsible for implementing and successfully executing the complete, on-time delivery of goods and services that meet quality, performance, and profitability objectives. Supporting the Power Generation Services (PGS) business unit, this role leads a team of supply chain professionals, manages supplier relationships, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates across the organization to support business goals and customer commitments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for procuring raw materials, equipment, tools, Mitsubishi Power-designed parts, third-party spare parts, subcontract services, and other materials supporting field service, LTSA, gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems


  • Develop and implement standardized sourcing processes, procedures, and best practices


  • Support supplier qualification activities, including initial, recurring, and expanded supplier evaluations


  • Develop, maintain, and communicate supplier performance evaluations related to contract deliverables and project execution


  • Drive initiatives to reduce and eliminate rework through process improvements, training programs, and performance tracking systems


  • Support cost reduction initiatives designed to meet or exceed corporate productivity and profitability targets


  • Improve supplier performance related to on-time delivery, product quality, and competitive value


  • Manage and execute departmental budgets and resources effectively


  • Participate in proactive efforts to achieve departmental and company goals


  • Lead employee development activities, including regular check-ins, coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews


  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performing team environment


  • Communicate effectively with employees, suppliers, and management at all levels


  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements


  • Protect confidential and proprietary company information

Knowledge, Skills, and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field


  • Minimum of 8 years of Supply Chain Management experience


  • Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience developing and leading high-performing teams


  • Strong change management and organizational leadership capabilities


  • Proven experience enhancing corporate culture and driving employee engagement


  • Strong strategic thinking, organizational agility, and ability to work within a cross-functional environment


  • Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience preferred


  • Deep knowledge of SAP and Ariba systems


  • Experience supporting combustion turbines, steam turbines, generators, auxiliary equipment, and balance of plant (BOP) systems


  • Demonstrated success driving equipment cost reduction, lead time reduction, and quality improvement initiatives


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP


  • Exceptional communication, leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skills


  • Ability to travel up to 20%

  • Regular standing, walking, and bending


  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
