Provides Global Quality leadership to the organization in an expanded manner, administering Quality Management System and associated quality protocols, along with supporting the operation teams towards achieving their quality performance targets, aligned to Global strategic initiatives.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Leads and supports the design, implementation and deployment of CLS's Quality Management System & related processes such as Customer Satisfaction, Monthly Operations Reviews, Industry Certifications
  • Provides QMS requirements gathering, authorship, document review and approval
  • Supports the development and execution of quality improvement initiatives for Aerospace & Defense sites aligned to Celestica quality targets
  • Engages, supports and provides mentorship for effective execution & skills development of powerful protocols & tools such as 8D Methodology, Regulatory & Compliance, Change Control, FMEA, Manufacturing Quality Standards.
  • Supports the Aerospace & Defense sites in their engagement with the customers to ensure all requirements are communicated, understood and fulfilled as agreed upon.
  • Provides leadership and support to Aerospace & Defense sites to define the critical Quality business processes, tools & system applications required for the site to meet it's Quality objectives.
  • Reviews results from various sources (Customer Scorecards, Customer & Regulatory Audits, Operational Performance, Feedback from Global Customer Units etc.) to ensure that issues and action plans are communicated to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Provides leadership guidance to the sites to ensure readiness for external certifications (ie. ISO9001:2K, AS9100, Nadcap, FAA, ANSI/ESD, etc.), including audit support, and guidance on ITAR compliance requirements.
  • Provides training to site personnel on global quality processes and procedures as required to ensure sufficient knowledge & skills exist at the sites to independently support & maintain CLS's quality initiatives.


Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
• In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and standards, including ISO 9001/9002, AS9100, Nadcap, FAA, and ESD Controls.
• Excellent understanding of industry quality practices, certification requirements for various types of business, industry and government quality recognition programs including ITAR compliance requirements.
• Broad and in-depth practical knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials, manufacturing and business processes specifically suited for the Aerospace and Defense sector.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
• Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks of high complexity to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
• Ability to effectively lead, manage, train, mentor and motivate employees from multiple sites and multiple regions to implement quality initiatives within tight time deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal, executives and external customers.

Physical Demands

  • Sustained visual concentration on small areas, such as monitors, screens
  • Sustained visual concentration on numbers, legal documents
  • The job works in generally good conditions with occasional exposure (10% - 33%) to noise, odours, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
  • Occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Moderate domestic and international travel as required (10 to 25%)


Salary

The stated range includes Base Salary and target Short-Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.
