Job Summary:

Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division (EPD) is seeking a leader to drive and further develop our Power Solutions Network (PSN). Great progress and growth have been achieved since its inception in 2021. Growth has been rapid, and the business will continue to double in revenues per year. Due to this significant growth across all tri-spheres, we require a leader to bring a focus on strategic quality planning.  This role will develop quality strategies that ensure our customers receive the highest quality units every time.  This role operates across the PSN and our internal facility teams, it requires great influencing skills and will readily rely on the teams globally to ensure we deliver for our customers.

You will shape how suppliers are onboarded, developed, and managed as it relates to their quality process from inbound receiving, in process validation right through to Pre Delivery Inspection.  It also includes all quality functional responsibilities we have for first of kind units and product design validation activities.  It is truly a very unique quality management role.

The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience, ability to lead in multiple cultures and time zones.  Ideally you will be familiar with global quality standards and how we can apply them internally.  We want a leader who is able to push the boundaries of normal processes and develops more effective, robust and efficient processes, utilizing technology tools where applicable.

This role is critical to the success of Caterpillars Large Electric Power Solutions (LEPs) Business.  This role sources suppliers who will manufacture CAT Solutions (Standby and Prime Genset Enclosure units) for our division, serving our customers in the EAME region.  The role requires a strong technical background along with a customer-focused mindset. 

What You Will Do:

  • Developing, implementing, monitoring, and optimizing quality assurance processes to ensure final products and services are compliant with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Communicating adherence to client requirements, product or service specifications, and ensures that their expectations are met to achieve high customer satisfaction rates.

  • Recruiting, developing, and leading staff to accomplish personal and organizational goals, adhere to policies/procedures and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Managing process to achieve compliance for internal quality audits and coordinate external on-site audits; analyzing all product development and manufacturing procedures to identify deviations from quality standards and recommend and implement corrective actions.

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain or related degree

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Influencing: Extensive knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

  • Planning and Organizing: Working knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

  • Problem Solving: Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Quality Management System (QMS): Working knowledge of Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances.

  • Relationship Management: Extensive knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Strategic Thinking: Working knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Knowledge of Caterpillar Quality Standards, ISO Certification Standards

  • Power generation experience

  • Demonstrated experience of setting up new processes and leading them through to completion

Additional Detail:

  • This position can be located in Alpharetta or Griffin, GA, Lafayatte, IN or Irving, TX

  • This position requires 5 day on-site availability

  • Domestic Relocation is available for this role

  • Travel is expected up to 50% of the time


 

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
