As a Global Product Planner, you will be at the forefront of supply chain management, driving operational excellence and ensuring product availability across our Indianapolis and Mannheim, Germany hubs. You will develop and manage supply plans utilizing both affiliate and statistical forecasts to create accurate and efficient supply chains. By proactively addressing supply and demand planning issues, you will maintain seamless operations and ensure the accuracy and continuous optimization of MRP master data. Leading bottleneck management, allocation, reserve management, and scrap mitigation across the network will be vital components of your role.

In this position, you will be the primary point of contact for product supply-related communications with suppliers, regions, business areas, and affiliates. You will guarantee the timely supply of finished goods to regional and local warehouses, aligning with service level agreements (SLAs), and strive to meet customer service objectives at the lowest possible total costs, including distribution, inventory, and write-offs.

The Opportunity

  • Supply Planning: Develops global supply plan based on affiliate forecasts and GSC strategic guidance. Delivers supply plans to Manufacturing and supplier partners. Works with external suppliers to ensure agreed plans are met. In case of exception, works with partners to resolve situations with the least disruption to customers. Monitors cycle time, critical batches and the optimization of planning parameter settings to avoid destruction costs or stock outs. Monitors schedule adherence and discusses if below target during Supply Review meetings (S&OP). Monitors system alerts for potential / actual supply issues throughout the global network. Makes recommendations to provide timely resolution with minimum impact to customers: Works with IBL/IPM to define regional/country product allocations in case of bottleneck; Keeps Regions / Affiliates / BAs informed as to potential and actual product bottlenecks.
  • Inventory & Product availability management: Manages inventories at global distribution centers to ensure high service level to customers at lowest possible costs (inventory level, distribution cost, write-offs)
  • Supports Life Cycle Management for complex and strategically critical product launches, conversion and phase outs. Controls launch dates to ensure product availability in due time. Controls timely clearance of discontinued products to minimize scrap costs.
  • Parameter Ownership: Responsible for ongoing optimization and accuracy of master data settings for planning and supply relevant to direct delivery and replenishment processes throughout global and local systems per guidelines established by the GSC governance.
  • Inventory & Product Availability Management: Manages affiliate inventories, replenishment plans for globally managed products. Responsible for direct delivery support out of regional warehouses. Replenishes Affiliate inventory levels to ensure end-customer service meets targets. Manages service levels at the lowest possible cost (inventory level, distribution cost, write-offs).
  • Reporting: Develops or gathers data and reports needed to optimize and support planning processes such as Annual Planning or S&OP.
  • Project Participation And Sub-Project Management: Sub-project management for defined task packages with budget responsibility. May independently analyze moderately complex problems, develop concepts, describe the requirements of the department and support the implementation of solutions.
  • Independent execution of process and system analyses. Initiation and implementation of improvement measures, including the reporting system, execution of complicated system tests, consulting and training of the system users and the presentation of best practices. Analysis of particularly complex data sets.
  • Business travel

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
  • 5 years of experience in logistics, marketing, production, inventory control or purchasing functions with an international focus
  • Highly proficient in materials management and supply chain data analysis. Supporting tools include SAP & OMP
  • Excellent problem solving & negotiation skills to impact the status quo and influence decisions to achieve business decisions
  • Strong expertise in stakeholder management and excellent communication skills
  • Project Management skills


This is a fixed term position until end of 2027.

This is an onsite role with up to 2 days per week working from home allowed.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis, IN is $78,600 - $146,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
