Role Overview

The Senior Product Owner, Global HR Talent is accountable for the end-to-end product strategy, roadmap, governance, and value delivery of GXO's global HR Talent portfolio, excluding Learning. The portfolio includes talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, career development, and supporting talent analytics.

Acting as the single global owner for the HR Talent Product, this role ensures solutions are business-driven, scalable, compliant, user-centric, and aligned with GXO's global HR and People strategy.

Operating in a large, matrixed, and fast-paced logistics environment, the role bridges HR, IT, Operations, and external vendors, translating business needs into sustainable digital products that create measurable value at global scale.

This role reports into the Vice President, HR Global Products.

Key Responsibilities

Product Leadership & Governance

  • Own the global product strategy for the Talent Management domain in close alignment with the Talent, Learning & Culture function.

  • Define and maintain a multi-year product roadmap, balancing innovation, regulatory requirements, user needs, and operational stability.

  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management for Talent across planning, build, deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.

  • Establish and maintain global governance and standards for end-to-end Talent Management.

  • Serve as the primary global decision-maker for processes, platform configuration, enhancements, and optimisation.


Platform Management & Optimisation

  • Oversee requirements gathering, user story development, platform configuration, testing, deployment, and release activities.

  • Evaluate and prioritise enhancements in partnership with HR Technology, Workforce Analytics, and Data teams.

  • Own and manage the global backlog of requirements, issues, enhancements, and improvements using Agile methodology.

  • Ensure alignment with other Global HR Products, including HR Core, Time & Attendance, and HR Data & Analytics, as well as the broader HR technology ecosystem.


  • Drive continuous improvement in platform functionality, user experience, adoption, and business value.


Process & Experience Improvement

  • Document, standardise, and optimise global talent processes, lifecycle event triggers, workflows, and templates to create a consistent experience.

  • Ensure processes and platform workflows support best practice while maintaining compliance, security, and confidentiality.

  • Champion standardisation across regions while enabling responsible localisation to meet appropriate legal and business requirements.


Data Integrity, Compliance & Accessibility

  • Oversee processes, data flows, integration quality, and governance across HR systems.

  • Ensure compliance with global data privacy, security, and regulatory standards.

  • Maintain strong controls for data accuracy, segmentation, accessibility, and user access rights.

  • Partner with relevant teams to enable reliable talent insights and data-driven decision-making.


Stakeholder Engagement & Change Enablement

  • Work closely with Talent teams, HR Business Partners, People Services, Communications, and business leaders to drive adoption and behaviour change.

  • Partner with regional leads to ensure consistent deployment and effective use of the Talent Product globally.

  • Lead communications, training, and change enablement for system changes, new capabilities, and transformation programmes.

  • Influence stakeholders across functions and geographies to align priorities and deliver sustainable outcomes.


Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary contact for external vendors, with a current focus on SAP SuccessFactors and Cornerstone.

  • Maintain relationships across GXO's vendor landscape and lead governance processes, business reviews, roadmap discussions, and contract renewals.

  • Monitor service-level performance, proactively escalate issues, and ensure vendor roadmaps remain aligned with GXO's strategic priorities.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Master's degree and/or relevant certifications in Product Management, Agile, or HR Technology are preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in HR, HR Technology, Digital Product Management, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior Product Owner or Product Management role within HR, enterprise platforms, or HR IT consulting.

  • Strong product management capability combined with deep knowledge of HR technology and/or employee experience platforms.

  • Proven experience owning global HR Talent solutions within a complex, multinational organisation.

  • Strong exposure to large-scale transformations, global rollouts, and operating model design.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a matrixed, global organisation.

  • Strong decision-driving, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively.

  • High degree of ownership, resilience, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity.

  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, and related HR technologies is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Jira and Agile backlog management is required.


Location & Travel

The position will be based in Germany, with regular collaboration across regional and global HR, Technology, and business teams.

Travel across Europe and occasional global travel will be required to support stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and key transformation initiatives.

Global travel requirement: approximately 20-25%.
