What you'll be doing

Join our Global Markets team as a Student Analyst or Associate in this 4-month role and become part of a team focused on delivering innovative banking and investment solutions to CIBC's retail, wealth and business clients including corporates, governments and institutional clients around the world. Our goal remains to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and to work as one team to build our brand across North America and the world - proudly living our values as we work toward our vision to be the leader in client relationships.

Our Global Markets business comprises our sales, trading, structuring and research teams spanning cash and derivative products in foreign exchange, commodities, rates and equities in addition to securitization, prime brokerage, money markets and more. We are widely recognized for our capabilities and leadership in these areas and remain committed to investing in technology and talent to drive innovation and scalable growth.

You will be aligned with our Global Markets Montreal team.

The expected annualized base salary for this role is $100,000.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

  • You are enrolled in either an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics (or related program) or an MBA or Master's degree at the time of the internship, with a graduation date no earlier than December 2027.

  • Passion for Financial Markets - Demonstrate strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills, with keen interest in the financial markets and proven record of academic success, teamwork and extracurricular involvement.


  • Process Oriented - Present detailed analysis, financial modeling, structuring, and research to support senior professionals and help to identify opportunities to win business, execute transactions, automate existing processes and develop new businesses.
